Hi everyone i'm totally new to 3d printing i just got my hands on a UMO without a board control (v1.5.7) i have tried finding it for a while but no luck.

i searched i lil bit about board control that can replace it so i found most of the ppl use the ramps 1.4

my question is will it work on UMO ? if so does it take the same power supply !?

also if anyone have another ideas i'm all ears.

Hi @hichemhich, thank you for your message and welcome to the community. By board control, I think you mean the full electronics right? Or are you talking about an Ulticontroller?

Which electronics would be best fitted also depends on what version of the UMO you have. Most importantly if it has a heated bed or not. If you are not sure, you can also post a picture of your UMO here. Good luck!

    thank you for responding 🙂

yes i mean the full electroniques are missing i have Ultimaker original with no heated bed

what i have mounted now are : 4 stepper motors, 6 endstops,2 cables for lcd, 1 tempeture sensor for the extruder, and 2 fans (one for the extruder and the other for the missing board v1.5.7), and 2 lcd cables
here's a picture that could be helpful

Hi, have you already tried this link to discover which resellers we have available in your region? It shows me 3DPrint.tn. If they don't have the electronics on stock, they should be able to order it from us and get it to you that way. Hope this helps!

    Hi hichemhich,
are you still trying to find a control board for your UMO?

I am in the process of designing an upgraded version of the 1.5.7 board.  A version 1.6.0  of sorts. But it will be awhile before I have tested out all the new ideas.

In the process of adding new functions etc. I have had to first make a completely similar design, as the 1.5.7 board, so (if you are interested) I could produce a 1.5.7 similar board, so you have something easy to get you started.

I do these PCB designs (and 3D printing) as a hobby, so the price of a board would only be the cost of the materials.

I am a 'die hard' UMO (and UMO+) fan, and was previously using an UMO at my local makerspace, but I just recently got myself two (used) UMO printers, that I am modding and upgrading.
So whether you would like a 1.5.7 similar board or not, then I have just decided to design a SMD version of the 1.5.7 board.

I have previously hand made some enhanced RAMPS 1.4 boards, and they had a material cost of about US$12 + shipping.  The 1.5.7 board uses a special switch, so that will add about $2 to the cost.

Because I live in Europe, then International shipping is a bit expensive.
The cheapest (but still safe) method of shipping an electronics board, is to send it as a registered letter, which is about US$ 20 ( DKR 132, Euro 18)

So, are you still looking for a 1.5.7 control board?
