Hello,

I recently noticed allot of wiggle in the printhead on the Y-axis. Is this normal?

It looks like the printhead is connected with 4 bolts (see picture).

I checked the manual to look if there are any specification how tight the bolts need to be in Nm.

But I couldn't find any reference.

So I tightened the 4 bolts a little bit on the printhead.

It reduced the play in the printhead allot in the Y-axis direction.

This is my first printer so i'm not sure if i made things better or worse.

Anyone else ever had to tighten these?

Guess the worst that could happen is that i screw up the bearings.

    Hello

In practice, the observation that X has less play than Y is normal for this printhead. Because inside, the axle has one bearing less in the Y direction.

Here is a picture I took during a maintenance / repair of the printer.  A bearing in the middle.

I also tightened it a little on mine. Theoretically, you can't damage the bearing because it is positively locked in a recess in the cover. Even after tightening, the bearing still has more play than the other one.

As a constructor, this can make you think. But what I find more important is that it works like this.

    Many greetings
