Problem: Cura 4.12.1 doesn't have a consistent direction to draw the brim?

Cura doesn't always draw the brim from outside to inside (adjacent to the outer wall), is this a bug? e.g. the object on the bottom left had the brim drawn from outside to inside (good!) but the object at the top right had the brim drawn from the inside to the outside (not good!):

The problem with that in this case is that the brim is too complicated if it is drawn from the inside out so the print will always fail. Is there a way to consistently force the brim to be drawn in one direction, i.e. from the outside to inside?

Thanks, that didn't work for me. I re-opened that attached file and did nothing other than change that setting and click slice...and three of the objects still had their brim printed in the wrong order (inside to outside). I feel like this should probably be considered to be a bug, I cannot think of a print I have ever done that I would prefer the brim to be printer in that order.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
