i think it might have been my silk yellow gold filament by giantarm from amazonn... idk but after i got through the spool a little bit the issue stopped happening. now i just need to learn how to print silk and not mess it up... i'm assuming silk is softer and needs to burn at 190 maybe? its been the hardest filament to print, i kind of just gave up on it and am usinng generic PLA though i would really like to have more prints in silk.

I've printed a lot of silky PLA. My normal temp is 210 but for copper it's 215 because the layer adhesion is really poor with copper. I like Matter Hackers filaments.
If you keep the outer wall speed at 30 to 35 you will see a lot nicer finish. You might want to shorten your retract distance as well. I run silkies at 5mm retract at 35mm/sec on the E motor.
With combing enabled and setting the infill and support infill layer heights to 2X the print layer height the infill and support goes down every other layer. That helps limit the retractions as well. Another thing to limit the retractions is to enable "connect infill lines" and "Connect support lines".
Cleaning out the hot end every 30 hours or so of printing time helps, along with trimming back the bowden tube by 5 or 6mm when you do that. It falls under "Can't Hurt". I always take the time to do hot end maintenance before a long print. Experience can be a harsh master. Expensive too.

i really appreciate that info! i had tried 215 but perhaps i was printing too fast for the print. my print would just stop for no reason on silk pla so i figured that it was getting stuck because it was cooling too quick so i had turned down the fan to 80 percent and turned down flow 80% and that had printed out a skull of mine just fine...i've only had two successful prinnts with the gold silk pla i have...i gave up on it but I will try the setting you use to see if that makes a difference in the prints.

Make sure the filament stays dry. It can get really soupy when it's wet. More like PETG than PLA. Keep it in a ziploc with a couple of desiccant packs inside.
I bought a new stove a couple of years ago before I got into this. To my pleasant surprise it has a Dehydrate setting and an exhaust fan runs. Lucky and nice.
yea for sure! i've been reading alot abbout that. so i been keepig them in their origial package with those packs that come with, and seal them up and puit them in a plastic storage been i got. and some in zip locks of course. and in iowa right now its super dry any way...but i'm sure i'll have to be more careful in our hot humid summers.

Copy one of the "bad" gcode files off the SD card and post it here.
A clog or jam will not stop the printer from continuing to process the gcode file. The printer will continue on it's merry way, it just can't push plastic and typically the extruder motor will skip backwards because it can't go forward. The noise is an unmistakable click-click-click from the extruder.
