Mystery print tracks in Cura

Hi,

 

I'm trying to print an RC plane wing segment. 2 perimeters, 4% infill.

 

After slicing I noticed the yellow tracks, unknown and unwanted. (It's about the tracks in the hollow part of the print, not about the ones on the bottom of the print)

 

How can I get rid of these tracks?

It's hard to tell from the screenshot but I think they are there because that area is at an angle and Cura is attempting to maintain the wall thickness.  If you would use the "File | Save Project" command and post the 3mf file someone will take a look.

I'm not able to reproduce the slice but here the current version, now the extra tracks are on opposite sides (?).

 

BTW, the wing profile isn't NACA 650-18 anymore, this version has the slat integrated as I have not figured out yet how to make and mount them to a wing.

If you use a support blocker as a cutting mesh and configure the per model settings to modify overlaps and set the top/bottom layers to 0 then I think you can eliminate those lines you don't like.  That will impact the wall thickness of the ribs though.

The Cura slices are horizontal while the wall thickness is normal to the surface and since the angle looks to be about 45° then the actual wall thickness will not be .8 but rather .56 on those horizontal areas (because the yellow lines are added to make the wall thickness correct).  The vertical walls will still be .8.

Ok thanks, I think I understand. I have to look into the support blocker option as I haven't used it so far.

 

Isn't there a setting which can case the green lines to be elevated half the layer thickness/width to make the wall thickness 0,8 again? (As the angle is indeed 45 degrees)

 

If not maybe this would be a nice feature for the future for Ultimaker to add to Cura, saves weight.
