Can not load a 3mf file as a project

I am trying to load a 3mf file into Cura 5.0 as a project so I can extract the profile from it. When I load the file it just loads the print that is in the file but I never get the "Load As Profile" dialog box. I know the profile is in the file as others have used it and I even unzipped it and I can see all of the content. Running Cura 5.0 on Win10. Thanks!

On the "General" page of the Cura preferences, scroll down to "Opening and saving files" and check that the "Default behavior when opening a project file" is not set to "Always import models".

No Op, but I am having the same issue.  I can confirm that the "Opening and saving files" and check that the "Default behavior when opening a project file" is not set to "Always import models", but set to "Always ask me this", but I also tried "Always open as a project" and it still does not import or ask to import settings.  I USE TO HAVE the setting at "Always import models", but changed it and restarted cura.

    Ender 3

    Cura 5.0.0 ( and also Cura 5.1.0 Beta + 304 )

I will also attach it here.

    stderr.log file attached.

EDIT: Help on FB suggested it may be the Start-up Optimizer causing issues, and when I disabled it,  I was able to import the 3mf as a project.

So, is this a Start-up Optimizer issue, Cura importer issue, or user error?

I have been wrestling with this since Cura 5 came out and I tried Cura 5.1.1 today with the same issue.

However today I tried something new. I changed my dual monitor setup to a single monitor setup and it opened the 3mf project!

Btw I'm also Running Windows 11.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
