Hi,

When downloading the new Beta 5.1 version of Cura, how can I stop it from downloading old profiles, at the exclusion of all the new inbuilt profile settings.  I deleted and tried again but the same result.  No new profiles.  Thanks Stephen.

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

If you want to start with a blank slate, go to Help -> Show configuration folder. Close Cura, and remove all the files from the configuration folder, but leave the (now empty) folder itself in place. If you remove the entire folder, Cura will search for a configuration folder of a previous version and copy it over. If you leave the folder itself empty, Cura will start afresh.

PS: The non-beta version of Cura 5.1 is out.

Thank you so much for your reply.  I am still having similar issues.  Probably simply from a lack of knowledge of how updates work.  I have just downloaded Cura 5.5 but are you able to tell me how I can restore the default print profiles?  There is only one default profile showing, (ie Fast .2mm) along with about 10 of my own profiles.  I have read lots of forums but still unsuccessful in recovering all the default settings.  Many thanks in anticipation.  Stephen.

Open Cura's configuration directory (in Cura, go to Help > Show Configuration Folder) and close Cura.

Go into the quality and quality_changes folders and delete all the files in them. This should wipe of all your custom profiles and restore the stock ones.

I don't know if that will restore all the stock ones by itself - if it doesn't, try removing then re-adding your printer in Cura.
