Hi.

I have a 3D printer (Model S5) from Ultimaker.
And I began to notice that strange sounds appear on it during printing.
These sounds (probably faulty motors) I need to eliminate.
Can you please tell me if this sound will disappear if I change the motors?

Video

Best regards

Why do you think it is (one of) the motors? It could also be one of the belts is creeping up on a pulley. Have you checked the belts?

There was a suspicion that the problem is in the belts, but they are not the problem
and until yesterday there were old belts, I replaced them with new ones, but nothing has changed

Lol no kidding. Still prints pretty flawlessly. Ordered new belts for all of the axis, bearings for the printhead assembly, and servo motors.

    Its not faulty motors.

The motion belts need replaced. It should not result in print quality issues leaving them as is.
This is common to all generations of UltiMakers to date.
But to eliminate the creaking noise, replace all 4 long drive belts and the 2 short loop drive belts.
These parts are available from your local UltiMaker reseller.

Trust me its madding trying to identify the issue and sounds like a odd root cause when you try to troubleshoot it on your own. But the issue is the belts.

The problem is that the belts were replaced with new ones. In this case, following your recommendation, I see two possible problems: I was sold low-quality belts, or the belt tension is too tight

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
