Posted · Change lcd "printing" to Filename?

Hi,

I wonder if its possible to get the LCD to display the filename of whats printing instead of "printing".

I fully understand how to change the text to anything, but not sure how to pick up the file name?

any thoughts

David

    David,

What I normally do, in Cura expert settings, on the tab Start/End-Gcode, in the left below window, change the M117 command.

I put there the filename of the gcode file I'm preparing to make, import the STL file into Cura and save the GCode file equal to the filename I put in the M117 command.

    Example:

    M117 any text you want

Sounds a simple solution, is there any way to automatically pick up the filename and add it to 117?

would this work ? found it on sli3r

M117 [input_filename_base] ; display printed file on LCD

    Hi,

Wondering if this was ever solved? M117 {filename} is not valid as well as all other combinations I have tried. Currently using Cura 2.7 .

    Thanks
