delivered on 05.04.2014

for some days, I encoutering under extrusion problems

http://ovh.to/ZyxKB9

extrudor stepper is sleeping when changing material (during the last step of the process , when material gets out

of the hot hend), extrudor pressure white indicator is near to the top.

i did not change any settings and always printing with default settings (T° , material flow, fan)

default settings for ABS:

I am using ABS from ANATA and default blue PLA from ULTIMAKER

The only setting i have changed is the speed

the only adjustment that I have changed is the speed. but never exeding 70 mm

I did a lot of impressions ~ 60-70 hours without any problems.

I tried to clean the nozzle with a steel wire 0.35 mm.

The wire back into the bowden tube without any problems

i'v desassembled bowden tube but can't find any problem with,

and tried to move manually

Picture is very blurry but it looks like it might be underextrusion. Please post pictures and videos directly here. Here are instructions:

This looks completely normal. It is supposed to skip backwards like that when loading new filament.

When switching from ABS to PLA it is VERY common to get a clogged nozzle - partial or full. ABS if left host (above 220C) for more than 20 minutes can transform into a permanent clog.

I would first try cleaning it with the "atomic" method.

    http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/4118-blocked-nozzle/?p=33691

Maybe try 3 or 4 times. If it doesn't seem better you should do complete dissassembly, burn out everything in nozzle (and test white teflon piece while you take it apart) and also soak it in acetone which will dissolve the ABS. Maybe for an hour:

It's not that hard to take it all apart:

    1) Remove filament.

    2) Remove 4 screws holding fan sheet metal thing - let it hang by wires.

    3) Unscrew 4 very long thumb screws.

    4) Remove the 2 screws holding that 3rd "rear" fan on - careful as there is a strong spring as you can see so hold it together with one hand while unscrewing with the other and alternate screws.

    5) Remove the white teflon piece (inspect it by passing solid filament through it to make sure it hasn't smushed overly small.

    6) Heat nozzle to 180C before next step or you will destroy the nut (solid PLA locks the threads) - rotate the nut with holes in it by inserting a small screwdriver all the way through two opposite holes. This frees the nozzle. Once it is free turn heat off again but no need to wait for it to cool.

    7) Remove very skinny long headless screw before removing temp sensor or heater as these are held in by that long skinny thing.

    8) Remove temp sensor and heater gently - make sure you do step 7 first!

Now you can put the nozzle in flame. Don't leave it in too long as even nozzles can melt but heat it enough to burn anything made from trees.

Weird it did not do before

Thanks, I will do this procedure and the print test

But disassembling it will not void the warranty ?

You haven't validated your account. You should have received an email with a link you needed to click on. Once you do that, then you can upload files, I think.

No, disassembling it won't void your warranty - particularly if you are reasonably careful.

    Hello,

I followed all the steps you told me.

I left the nozzle bathe in acetone whole night

Then I spent manually drill diameter 0.4 mm for good

clean the outlet of the nozzle.

    The result of the test

    I guess everything is ok

    thank you very much

I tried to print again in ABS. It is a total failure.

from left to right in the picture 20140608_163305:

    first printing ABS, Default settings (T 260 ° - 90 ° board - flow 107% - 50% fan)

    Second Printing ABS, modified settings (T ° 245 ° - 100 ° board - flow 102% - 30% fan)

    Third Printing in progress, the same party with PLA, settings (T 225 ° - 75 ° board - flow100%).

the nozzle was not cleaned between PLA and ABS and not coggled (i've checked manually with 0,4 drill).

The 3 fans ar working well.

    Results picture 20140608_191559

But always impossible to print ABS

    20140608 163305

    20140608 191559

Could it be a problem of thermal sensor? because The ABS extruded with difficulty, it seems less fluid than in my first ABS prints

I had exactly the same problem. Nothing would help, except taking the extruder apart and cleaning it with acetone.

    http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/5929-possible-countermeasure-underextrusion/

This will only work for ABS, as I have been told. And it will take a while, but I think it is worth the effort.

    A possible cause: http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/5953-idea-on-underextrusion/

    At least my theory :-P

If the temp sensor is broken, shouldn't there be an error message?

What layer height and speed are you printing?
