GitHub - Am I being stupid?

Hi there,

I'm trying to download the assembly step file but all I can do is view it in my browser under a txt format.

How do I download it?

I'm no github expert but what I do is usually to just go to the main page for the project and then click on the "Download zip" button on the right side about half way down the page. Then you'll get a zip file of all the files and you can pick and choose whatever you want from that.

Otherwise I guess clicking "View raw" and then saving the resulting page as a .step file could work?

Just right click on 'raw' and save the file. Then you can open it with your CAD application.

And I already thought I was the only one who thinks the GitHub site is a PITA to use...

Nope. It's a classic case of programmers creating a tool for programmers. "Regular people usability" is very low on the priority list. I'm sure all the command line tools and such when properly integrated into your tool chain makes it work very well, but for someone who's just passing by it's a bit of a pain.
