Posted · How to make a simple keyring with logo

I want to make a simple key ring / hanger. Using a random clipart image.

I use Inventor, Inkscape and Gimp. How can i transform the clipart into a usable stl file to make a print?

How would you do that?

You can actually load images directly into cura. Maybe that's an option for you? Just draw a two color design with the shape of the keyring and open it in cura. It will give you a few different options to tweak it.

Thanks for thinking along. I'll give both a try. Loading an image in cura worked but the result was not exactly what i was looking for, but maybe when i prepare the image differently. It would surprise me when 123D can cope with it when Inventor (here big brother) can't but lets give it a try!

    Cheers

of course the serious way is to make a vector outline in inkscape, import that one in Inventor and extrude.

Charmr is fun for kids parties or so, to have them pick a shape and a letter or so..
