Limit switch curved

Hello,

I have received my Ultimaker 2 yesterday. I have also done some printed, without noticeable problems.

After having a closer look to the parts, I have seen, that one of the limit switches is curved.

Is this normal or should the switch be straight like the other one? I have also noticed, that the print head (fan) is coming really close to the left housing plate while homing, maybe also touching it sometimes.

Should I bend the limit switch straight or is this on purpose?

I think it was bent like that on purpose so the head wouldn't hit the left side. Every machine is slightly different though.

If it *is* touching left side you can either bend switch a little bit more or maybe bend the fan shroud in a bit if not symmetrical.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
