  1. is there any chance to damage the nozzle scratching it with the needle? Because i've seen this suggestion on the cylinder test topic: http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/4586-can-your-um2-printer-achieve-10mm3s-test-it-here/
  2. This saturday i meet the ultimaker team at the Maker Faire Rome and Chris give me some tricks how to perform the athomic method and other things. She was so kind to give me the new teflon isolator to test it. So i've changed it and yes my former isolator was damaged but no... i did not get any improvement in the test print. So i've done again the atomic method and as she said i pulled the filament just in the moment the nozzle reached 90°C but the results are the same.. A short video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7tesnk422udh1vf/2014-10-04%2016.17.25.mp4?dl=0 So i start noticing that my filament always come out the nozzle curly/crimped like the image below. Is it normal? What else i can do?
  3. last test: gr5 i'll respond by point. 1 - to try (maybe) 2 - the bowden is clean and new 3 - to try (and maybe deformed) 4 - i'm pretty sure this is not the case My printer had so many troubles ( hot plate gone, power suppy gone, bowden tube gone ... and so many time clogged nozzle...) this year that i almost never use it. Like 4 days in 8 month. So i really can't accept a damage due to usage. I'm start thinking that somehow the nozzle is so dirt or ruined i need to replace it.
  4. also done at 70°. A little better but always like a toffee... Now i changed filament to try the test... and the results are even worse...
  5. Cold pull at 90C is what i've made so far... The filament is almost full...
  6. is this the new teflon isolator? https://www.ultimaker.com/products/um2-parts-ptfe-isolator-coupler-glass-filled-3-dot-2-mm
  7. I hope to find some teflon replacement @ Maker Faire Rome from Ultimaker stand! Is it something ultimaker provide to all the former printer or just by request? Today i'll try to wait more for the atomic method and see what happens. The red pla is almost at the beginning... but i noticed that is a little big even if shipped by ultimaker.
  8. when i push the filament at 260° it flows well but i can't figure it out if just above the nozzle is full of dirt or former filaments residuals.
  9. From the first on the left to the last on the right: If you see closely you can see a strange shape just near the part who is still a filament. Probably the one nearest to the nozzle. What can cause that?
  10. mhm.... the Atomic Method gave me a strange final result. I followed the instructions for pla and at the final step when you have to pull the filament, i received a streatched messy filament. (I'll post photos). And a strange commond deformation to all 4 attempt.
  11. Ok with the DonMilne setting the printing has improved in quality. I did twice the test cylinder (great idea) and is totally disappointing... @230°C I can see underextrusion almost since the beginning and then at the end of 5mm3/s the levels do not stick together. Second attempt same settings (just to be sure) http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/gallery/image/9192-test-cylinder-second-attempt/ I think i will try the atomic method as suggested to improve the cleanliness of the nozzle.
  12. I'm printing now with these settings. As soon as it finish i'll post a picture. What is the Atomic method? I downloaded the cylinder and i'll print it too soon.
  13. All with retraction enabled and temperature of 232°C. The little object is been printed today with very high speed (something like 120mm/s just to try) And the bigger object at 80 mm/s. to summarize: Little Object. PLA 232°C - 0,1mm layer - 120mm/s speed - retraction enabled Big Object. PLA 232°C - 0,2mm layer - 80mm/s speed - retraction enabled Approximately same results.
  14. wow! fantastic i never seen that visual guide! wel... looking the guide i suffer of: Under extrusion Pillowing (but no so pollow) i'll post my photo to let you underdstand better.
  15. io ci sarò. Non ho ancora capito se l'ultimaker ci sarà come lo scorso anno...
  16. Is anyone going to the MFR this year? I'll probably go on saturday.
  17. Hi, i'm wondering how i can fix this kind of behaviour. I'm sure is something i set wrong in cura.. but i can't understand what. When i print, if i have a flat top part on my model, the printer does not fill all the holes, living the moder rough and not finished.
  18. yes it's plugged all the way. I thought about that too... but seems a random behaviour...it stopped doing it and then during the printing started again and now that the printing is over it stopped again.
  19. the sound of crisps when fried in oil.
  20. Hi, i've just created a ticket. Today the power pack of my ultimaker 2 sizzles. Is something happened to you? is safe? what can be? Thank you.
  21. Yeah! Incredible but was the cable! I updated the ultimaker finally! I see however that the led brightness problem is still there..
  22. This is something i experienced too with the white filamens and ultimaker 2.
