  1. Not always. But one in a while the firmware of the ultimaker (in this case the ultimaker 2) is upgraded and you should do it. Since the release the Ultimaker had 2 firmware upgrade. This is the second... and i don't know why i can't do it! My computer (3 computers) does not recognise anymore the ultimaker 2. So i still have the former firmware.
  2. So the solution is to change the arduino? But why everything seems to work on my ultimaker 2! I just can't upgrade it.... could be something about the driver instead?
  3. Is there a way to download the ultimaker 2 driver directly?? I tried everything but nothing seems to work. I extracted the driver folder from cura but seems that the drivers inside doesn't work either..
  4. It was a great month of prints.. and everything was perfect (almost) as i wanted. And now it's suddenly clogged again. The problem now is that the filament is blocked in the head and as far as i can pull it can't go away. I think that is formed a block under the white teflon in the nozzle that do not allow the filament to go away. This is something that happened other times and probably a wrong way to project the nozzle. The spring that push down the teflon in the nozzle maybe is not a great system and sometimes it happen that a little block expand under the teflon and create a blockage. So you need to unmount the head and start again. Since is not a really big deal to unmount everything and try to repair the situation, it's however frustrating and i'm wondering if a better constructed nozzle could prevent that. Just to give you an idea, could be a great deal to have a teflon that screw in the nozzle perfectly. By the way there should be a faster way to remove the filament from the nozzle or the filamens that sometimes remains in the bowden tube when you change the filaments. Maybe some kind of a middle aperture of the bowden tube for purging.
  5. I've seen that this could be a problem with the Arduino Board. I tried to solve it updating the driver manually to let see the computer the board... but seems that doesn't work..
  6. Yes. I also use both computers to use arduino and it works flowless.. I yet upgraded months ago the second firmware so i know that should works.. but this time is behave like that..
  7. Hi, i would like to upgrade to the last firmware (cura 14.03) of my ultimaker 2..but when i attach it to the usb port of my computer it does not recognise the board.. (the ultimaker).. i tried even with the laptop but is the same.. what i can do? I always get unknown device.
  8. Hi!!! today the new heated bed is arrived!!!! Now my little ultimaker can start again to works!!! I need to publicly thank Marrit Hoffmans for her support and all the mail she answered. Now it's time to print! P.S. gr5 you are my technical reference point of the forum!! Thank you too!
  9. Yes...sure.. but i'm waiting the heated bed...
  10. wow! cool stuff! do you think that the upgrade may have gone wrong and re-updating could cure the machine? I'm still waiting the new plate and it's a month i'm not able to do anything.. i'm climbing a flat wall to understand why is like that. And now i would like to try with the firmware..
  11. How can i upgrade or downgrade to a version i want without cura? I mean if i would like to try a downgrade or just try to reflash the actual firmware how can i do it?
  12. ok i just didn't know if the support material was in the calculation. Thank you.
  13. Seems that i'm not able to use only the glue stick.. This is what happened with glue and not working heated bed:
  14. Is there a way to calculate how much support material is used based on what kind of support you choose?.
  15. do you have an approximatly date for the next release?
  16. While i'm waiting the replacing bed... Is there a way i can print without heated bed? I mean with blue tape? or something like that since i have not one..
  17. the ultimaker 2 has a this PT100 RTD ? i need to check the bottom.. is the only think i don't have seen yet.
  18. is there a way the bed is broken? I think it has a really simple science behind that can't be broken..or am i wrong? What i do not understand is why suddenly doesn't works.. in the first prints was ok and hot..
  19. yes sure. The problem is that you have to split it only with planes but you can do it.
  20. You can use the netfabb basic version too using the cut planes. You cut and then save two different stl for the pieces.
  21. i checked the cables and renewed the solder. Nothing changed. Maybe now the sensor show a lower more stable temperature.. but always wrong. You can see in this video that even if the plate is set at 0° it read 63°.. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cvczi8lw26qdtbi/2014-01-31%2016.25.44.mp4 The support now contacted me.. i hope they can help me.
