  1. ôo ok.. I though that .. Mostly after reading a post you did loong ago? If I can quote you... http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/7466-ultimaker-origional-and-dual-extruders/&do=findComment&comment=69752 That for me, and sorry if I didn't got it right, means that the heater that it's for the UMO "won't" work on UMO+... But if that's not correct... Then I have wasted 34€ on a 24v heater...
  2. Heater Cartridge for Ultimaker Original it's listed as "This part is also included in the Hot End v2 bundle. This product is compatible with the Ultimaker Original and the Ultimaker Original+." The specs "Heater Cartridge 18V 40WDelivery: 5-10 working days." Ultimaker Original + uses 24v Heater Cartridge from Ultimaker 2 But the Heater Cartridge for UM2 says "ONLY compatible with the Ultimaker 2." and the specs are "24V 25W" As far as I know, that info it's wrong. Correct me if I'm. Cheerss
  3. If anyone need a HBK I have one (unopen brand new) but Im on Spain.
  4. Problem it's that the x/y are visually out of alignment on my ultimaker so I can't print yet. I'm gonna make this weekend a simple alignment tool with lego (got like 2 boxes of technics) Great info on the clamp, didn't saw that photo, that does clear thinks up That microwave tensioner seems kinda cool, and neat the idea to be able to place more in the future using very little space. Thanks a bunch!
  5. Well maintly because the cash on opened and unopened 1.75 filaments. The advantages, as far as I know, after searching for info on how to do it, seems to be that the amount of filament that's on the head it's less, so less mass on the nozzle, that should reduce the oozing. But probably the issue could be that the motor needs to move more to push the same amount of filament... I really have very little idea XD But the easyer way to do it, without gluing ptfe 3mm/2mmID, as far as I could find on internet, it's a buddas ptfe that it's 6mm/2mmID, this way, you don't glue stuff on the bowden, but also isn't easy to find. So umm advantages... For me, lots of filaments (and the 'cool' ones like wood and colorfabb, formfutura, etc). Technical advantages, no real idea.
  6. Ok I found the 'documentation' on that Timingbelt spring... It's ofc, on somewhere else, on the Ultimaker 2 Assembly Manual um2 assembly manual V1.1 _english.pdf So I place them just outside like any other tensioner from youimagine or it's better to open everything?... Btw if anyone can tell me where the Metal cable clamp goes...
  7. Hi I just got my UMO+ from Imakr (assembled) and they left me 2 bags with items. The 'timing belt spring 1681 x4' and other think. Where exactly must I place it? Any photo for a bignoob like me? Also. What is the 'Metal cable clamp 1514 x1'? And where does it go? They forgot to put the calibration sticks that are used to align x/y so for now I can't print Edit. Photo of the 2 little bags
  8. Yeah. I just found a de shop with the um2 heater on stock and also I bough a power supply from the same company that the UM2 stock (but other with 280W). Also a connector that the board uses so I can do a clean cut and plug. On specs the max amps on that connector (R7B but the real name it's KPPX-4P) are: 4 Position: 48V DC 7.5A Max. For All Pins http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/222/KPPX-365228.pdf That for me sounds like it can support a lot of powa
  9. Ohh I see umm I'll have to start my googling again then
  10. Hi No I don't want UM2 feeder. I want to build the IRobertI feeder and adapt it to 1.75mm. That feeder it's for UM2 and there's a part that explains to use the 'existing' materials from the UM2 and that puzzles me a bit since I want it for my UMO+. Anyhow I think I figured most of it by reading github. But until my shippment arrives I wont be able to know if it's ok the idea Btw about my other questions on the UMO+ And the dual extruder Gr5 did answer everything I was asking on http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/7466-ultimaker-origional-and-dual-extruders/page-2&do=findComment&comment=93583 Amazing super community. Thanks a bunch guys!
  11. Does anyone know if I can plug this power suply to the UMO+? www.meanwell-web.com/en/download_datasheet.php?products_id=GS280A24-C4P&type=3 the one of 24v and 280w Thankss
  12. Yeah I think with just more W power supply its all fine (I really have no idea but sounda likely). Umo+ uses the same board as UM2. In theory if you can connect everything then it's fine if you have the W (again im just a newb on this). I bough HBK becuase I didnt found all the info and in theory my mix should work but it's more complex. I'm trying to find info to know from someone with knowledge if just with more W it's fine on umo+ or I really need to connect the hotbed to the pcb that comes with it.
  13. Hi, Newcomer here, I’m gonna have my precious new Assembled UMO+ tomorrow or something like that (DHL Express). I have like a gazzilion questions, for some I found the answer, some others only partially. My main problem is that I have almost zero ‘electrical’ knowledge, but I’m trying to learn My main topics: UMO+ Dual Extrusion: As ‘Daid’ said “If you want to hack things, then dual-extrusion on an UMO+ can most certainly be done” http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/7466-ultimaker-origional-and-dual-extruders/&do=findComment&comment=69778 I bough the UMO+ assembled. Also I bough a Dual Extrusion Experimental and a PT100 B and I have order 2 heater cartridge from Ultimaker. Also, I bough the U Bed Kit, because for what I did understand I need more power for UMO+ to have dual extruders + hot bed at the same time. The part I didn’t find a clear answer it’s… Since UMO+ it’s like a Monster (the one from Dr. Frankenstein) on the ‘specs’ area. It has parts of the UMO and pieces of the UM2. And I say this because on github it’s just a mess to find the real parts that UMO+ has, it has a PT100B like the UM2 and the heater also from UM2 since the heater of the UMO it’s 19v and the UMO+/UM2 it’s 24v… Ok. So when you go to Ultimaker Spare parts shop, there are spare parts, but only for UM2 and UMO, the ones that are for UMO+ are mixed, and github doesn’t clear thinks up, but after muuuuch forum reading, the info can be found thanks to the quite amazing community ultimaker has. So back to my questions… Now I have (tomorrow If i’m lucky) the UMO+2 the Dual Extruder Experimental and the Heated Bed (yeah I know it would have been easier with just a UMO but the electronic parts I’m sure that on UMO+ are more refined and will last longer). So yea I have that combo. My idea it’s to plug the dual extruders to the main board, and the heated bed to the PCB that comes with the HBK. Would this work? right? Ofc I have the PT100 B and 24v heater so the new head it’s properly connected. My other question it’s.. If the UMO+ has the same board as the UM2, and the difference it’s that the Bed uses 40W but the UM2 uses 25W, and that gives enough ‘space’ so a second head ‘could’ be installed. (http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/9344-company-update/page-4&do=findComment&comment=93299) Then my questions are 2: - If I find a power supply that fits on V and all that stuff that I don’t know much about, and that new p.supply could send around 40W more than the one that comes with the machine, does that mean that I could just plug everything on the main board without a second power supply connected to the PCB that comes with the HBK? - And… The other idea/question. Can’t the firmware be change so the heated bed only gets 25W like on UM2? I repeat, I have zero electrical knowledge, but I assume that that would only mean that it ‘heats’ slower, and that for me it’s just ok. Ok that’s the first main topic I wanted to ask you guys. The second it’s much easier I’m planning to change from 3mm to 1.75. I have read, asked questions all around and seems it’s quite doable. The part that it’s weird for me it’s that, mostly everywhere I see the comments suggest to use IRobertI feeder, and it seems like a quite nice feeder. The think it’s that that feeder it’s for UM2. So I went to the youimagine and on the BOM says ‘The parts from the old feeder plus…’. Ok the ‘old feeder’ its from a U2, so since I’m gonna have a UMO I don’t know what parts I would need. Also, when found a design to use the IRobertI on the UMO (https://www.youmagine.com/designs/um2-feeder-on-um1#!design-information) there’s almost no description on what parts are needed to build it. Maybe the solution it’s just that I could build it with the parts I already have on my UMO+? Well that’s all. I’m very happy to have purchased this print, the quality seems superb. I can’t wait to have mine installed and print the small little robot. Notes. Yeah I know dual extruders are problematic, they can scratch prints, they are poorly implemented and mostly ain’t necessary, anyhow I need to install it.
  14. Hey one silly question.. If the UMO+ has the same electronics as the UM2 and UMO+ can't power dual heads + bed at the same time. Does that mean that they knew from the beginning that UM2 won't be able to support that many power at the same time or someone just forgot to make 1+1+1 when redoing the board?
  15. Conny just one question, the ptfe that it's inside the original, do you push it so it fits inside the nozzle throat/hot end insulator, or you just glued it so it ends on the same part? Because I was wondering, if could be just easyer (for me since I dont have the ptfe yet) to buy a 6mm ptfe with 2mm dia to replace the bowden original and just change the feeder, this way everything should have a good grap?....
  16. After reading everything again and again I think I missed something. I will have it in a week or so when imakr finish the assembly so I have one question. If I connect the second hothead to the pcb that comes with the hbk and left the hbk connected as it comes with the umo+ then I should be ok right? I mean that pcb as far as I understand converts 24 to 19V ? I have the pt100 also ordered and I also plan to change from 3mm to 1.75mm (I have a lot of cash I filaments from prior printer). From the day I get my UMO+ this is going to be a much more fun than when I had to assemble 15 ikeas for my house.
  17. What kind of washer or system do you use to hold the inserted tube so it's not pushed back? Could you share a photo close up? Tyy
  18. Super thanks! I'll try to mount it but the idea of buying one sure will dave me a lot of time. I think now after searching for other mounted extruders that I'm starting to get the idea of how it's mounted.
  19. Hi, a newb here I found this ultimaker 1.75mm extruder to change the standard, it's from Scottmayson http://scottmayson.com/portfolio/ultimaker-1-75mm-filament-conversion/ Anyone knows (I have tried without success) how to mount it with the parts he says are needed? PTFE tube 4mm OD 2mm ID x 1 meter Push fit fittings M6 thread x 2 | 1 X drilled out in lathe to Dia 4mm MK7 Filament drive gear 5mm ID x 1 625RS bearing 16mm OD 5mm ID x1 M5 x 10 SHCS x1 M6 x 10 SHCS x2 M3 x 60 SHCS x 1 M3 hexagon plastic nut (stand off spacer) Washer to space bearing off plastic. M6 Heater Barrel for 1.75mm filament M6 Tap M5 Tap Ofc I dont ask for a tutorial video (well that would be nice) but if anyone could point me in the right direction to try to find out how to mount this that would be just superb. Sorry this it's the first time I mount stuff, I'm more a designer than a tinkerer
  20. Yeah I bough the heated bed extra becuase I wasnt able to find specs of the second power supply (I google it for days). I done this because the um+ I could buy was already assembled. Anyhow I'm sure I'll be ableyo sell the spare parts that I wont be using so it's fine. I'll have all in a week or two. I'll post as soon as I get somethig done
  21. I just choose to jump shark. I'll have ina few weeks the UM+ the HBK and the dual extruders kit. The think that worrys me it's the firmware. That's my unknow territory. Sorry to sound noob (I kinda am) but what firmware I will have to compile? It's just as easy as checking 2 extruders and it will work? Anyone that did this path has the firmware edited to compile or preconpiled? Thank you kindly!
  22. Anyone knows what model of pt100 or where can I buy the pt100 of the umo+? I saw a lot of pt100 of different sizes and some china cheap ones... Also to get a second power supply for the bed I can buy anwhere or must be the one of the HBK? I have buy an UMO+ and thr dual extruder experimental kit because even when it wont be easy it can work Sorry this newb questions but since I dont have the machine I dont know how the parts are and this will be my second 3d printer but the first that can be so much tinkered. I cant wait to have it Edit: It's the PT 100B, the one available at the ultimaker store the one I need?
