Hi UM folks, I get a "Nozzle offset test failed"message with every, really every print I do. And nearly all of my prints are using only one extruder. I uncheck the other extruder in Cura when slicing, so what the other extruder does is totally irrelevant. I installed the latest firmware on my UM3, and it still happens. Does anybody have an idea why this is happening? thanks.

Hi all, I fixed it. Re-installed firmware and did the lift switch calibration. The latter was the culprit. Only problem left is that the front door of the print head will not close anymore. Steel wire to the rescue. No back to the "normal"printing problems.

The first 20 or so layers were still attached when I found the mess. I use a salt solution and it attaches extremely well as long as the build plate is hot. But I did find the small bits of silicone that the nozzles poge through were out of place because oif a blob of resin. After I placed them back properly, cleaned the print cores and bent the print head door back to it closes again, I can print.

First layer was OK so I went out to lunch. Coming back, the buildplate was moved 10mm to the side and the print head door was open. After removing the print cores and with some bending, I manages to close the door again, but with the cores in it it will not close. No idea why this was happening, but from the remains of the print I can see some huge layer shifting. No idea why this happens, but my printer has broken itself and I have work to do 😰

Hi, folks. I find that when I use the support blocker while having extruder 1 disabled/ extruder2 enabled, I cannot slice. It says: unable to slice because there are objects associated with disabled Extruder 1. believe me. nothing is associated with extruder 1. As soon as I remove the support blocker, I can slice again for extruder2. Stuff I am using: Cura 4.11.0 / UM 3/ rPETG. greetings to all, Maarten

Hi Torgeir I keep all my filaments in a closed box, in wchich I also throw all by bags of silica gel. But I solved it. 1. installed laters firmware, 2 found the filament had been grinding because I set the 1st layer height too low, so removed that langth of filament 3 cleanied out the printcore. 4. Hi gdog, thanks fot your input, but no figurine here. It's quite a large object, no figurine. I only added the brim because I had adhesion problems in earlier attempts with this print. I am ordering some fresh material as the filament could be the problem. Been printing abjects like this fore years, but I just changed to another roll of filament whach had been out of its package for a while. thanks anyway, Maarten

Hi, I am printing with tPLA on my S3. Used to go fine until I tried to print this. Been pulling out my hairs all day. I set temp to 225, and initial layer height at 0.15. (tried other heights too, nothing works), Supports everywhere, brim. With hand leveling the first layer does not attach, with active leveling is mostly does. But after that I get only a few poor little sprigs instead of harmonica support structure. Could anyone tell me what's going on? Filament is original UM. Thanks, Maarten

I have the same problem. Cura does not "see "sd card or flash drive, and also sdaves to a random location (like "thinking" my cloud storage is a sd card) . Cura is great, but ist time the programmers adress this issue. cheers, Maarten

Hi everybody, I had this nag message that I should not print tPLA on a BB printcore. Cool, but I am not doing that so stop reminding me. Then I "changed printcores" . I took out the AA, waited, and put it back in. UM3 says a BB printcore was inserted. So UM3 thinks I have an AA printcore at extruder1, while really there is an AA present. Someone knows whats going on? BTW, prints fine. best rtegards, Maarten

Yes, I see. So please explain to me why the Cura update had to wipe out the profile I made myself? That, by the way, provided a very smooth printing experience.

When Cura asks me to install the new update, I politely comply. But I was completely stunned that in v 4.11 Tough PLA did not seem to exist anywhere. So I go to the Ultimaker page with the print settings : tough PLA settings, where I read to my astonishment: "Note: Ultimaker Tough PLA is not supported on the Ultimaker 2+ (Extended), Ultimaker 2 Go, Ultimaker 2 (Extended), Ultimaker Original+, and Ultimaker Original." What is this , Ultimaker? Printing UM material on an UM printer and its not supported? And I suppose you think now I am going to the shop to get me a UM 3 or 5? I am having a hard time staying polite now.

So, after re installing Cura and selecting all settings I do not get the print temp in material setting. Perhaps change over to Slic3r? I love how Cura works with my UM2+ but this is sort of annoying.

I just did, and some of the material settings became available, but none of the temperature related. Is this supposed to happed or should I reinstall Cura?

It would be nice if the print temperature settings were accesible. Somehow I can only edit them in the material proterties unless I set the Gcode flovor to Marlin.

Hi, all. My Um was printing happily when I decided to work on some other print. I opened up my Cura 3.6.0 and immediately the printer stopped. Nozzle head resting right on the print, and the readout said "printing over USB". Which I wasn't, but ruined print anyway. So, I will leave the USB cable out from now on, but please UM, time to fix this bug. Here is someone else reporting related problem: best wishes, Maarten .

With UM tough PLA I have to use 50% fan speed (or the part will sag) and 4mm retraction (or I get stringing) printing at 210C. Also, very helpful, before printing I forward some material. If the nozzle is a bit cool, or dirty, the material will not flow, and I frequently have grinding issues at the feeder. Makerbot also have a tough PLA, and it even comes with its own extruder featuring a stronger spring. What bothers me, is Ultimaker saying "... our Tough PLA offers the same safe and simple use as regular PLA." That is not the case, and it would be nice if UM would be more open about settings and problems associated with this materials.
