  1. Awesome - that helped a LOT. This gives me more incentive to use the Ultimaker materials 😉 So if the value reported with the above technique is: 52339.68949070241 Is that value in mm? (So it would be 52.33 meters)? Do you have an idea of how many meters of material are on a new spool (either PLA or the breakaway)? Just looking for an idea of what a full roll worth would be.
  2. Is there a way to read the amount of material remaining on the spool without being in front of the printer (reading from the screen)? We are working from home, and I often send print jobs to our machines (we have 6 of them scattered around the building), and it would be helpful to be able to see how much is left via the web interface to the printer. I just haven't found a place in the web interface to see this (or can it be seen in Cura when connected?)...
  3. Great - thanks! (and I love the name, btw...)
  4. What does this accomplish? Does it prevent the service from stopping (or at least let it restart reliably)? And are you changing the resolution to a higher value here?
  5. Well, that command actually did work for me yesterday to re-enable the printer's camera! At least we have SOMETHING to get the camera operational again during a print...
  6. Thanks for that info. We initially tried turning on dev mode on all of the printers, but I kept running into issues with the machines getting stuck in a weird state. I was trying to reboot them remotely (sudo reboot), and I think this was causing the problem. I might try turning it back on for one (or more) of them and trying your suggestion above. Thanks!
  7. Hello SandervG - Can you clarify what is meant in your statement about it being less likely when running one ultimaker? Was this something that was in a recent firmware update? I don't know if our machines are all updated to the latest, but if not, I would be willing to try updating them to see if something changes. These are the versions we have right now: 5.5.12.20200226 5.5.12.20200226 5.5.12.20200226 5.4.27.20191212 5.2.11.20190503 5.5.12.20200226 So clearly two of them are out of date, but the remaining printers look like they are on the same version dated 02/26/2020. Is there a newer version than the above?
  8. I would love to hear when a new firmware to address this becomes available. We have 6 of the S5's at my office, and they are NOT grouped. All hardwired. And the camera feed is only available for a few hours after rebooting and running prints. We are actively printing on them (face-shield parts) and the inability to access the webcam is a PITA when you are remote! Thanks!
  9. Are there any commands that can be sent to get the printer out of an "aborted" state? We are trying to do some remote management on machines. As an example, I have a machine right now that I sent a print to, but it is stuck in "Aborted" state. I suspect it may be waiting for a confirmation button press (this is an S5). I have tried logging in as root, and issuing a reboot command, but it comes back up in the same state.
  10. My initial take is that the profiles don't import correctly into Cura 4.3, even though it states that it was successfully imported. The new profiles don't appear in the list of custom profiles.
  11. I just installed the beta alongside 4.3 so i could see the profile settings. I see an "i" notice next to the profile name after I load it, and it states that extruder 2 doesn't have a visual profile, so defaults will be used. Does this indicate a problem, or is it just notifying me that extruder 2 typically doesn't print anything that would be visual anyway (mostly supports), so default settings are used? This same message shows up for all profiles other than "Default" versions.
  12. Do you know if the profiles from the beta could be imported into 4.3? We are in the midst of deploying several of the S5's here along with the software, and I don't want deal with pushing a beta version yet.
  13. Thanks for the response. I was logged in as ultimaker - I tried as root as well, but wasn't sure where to find the details there. I am not aware of new cura profiles from the beta. I will look for those. I am happy with the "dimensional" profile I have now, but it would be nice to get rid of some of the ringing. I just can't get rid of the ringing without bringing the dimensions out of spec (typically too big), and getting the corner bulges. And I realize that the sharp corners are not very realistic. I just like using these as my test part because I have printed dozens of them now!
  14. Well, I just stumbled on the "list" command when logging in via SSH as ultimaker. This spit out a lot of settings, including: acceleration_xyz = 3000 jerk_xy = 20 This seems to indicate that my test print with accel set to 3000 (enabled accel control) came out different because I also adjusted the outer wall print speed from my currently chosen value. I am running another test print with accel set to 3000, and outer wall back to my default of 35 to see if this produces a part similar to my previous prints with accel control disabled.
  15. Can this be queried via the ssh connection in developer mode? I haven't been able to get this to work either.
  16. I have failed in all my searches, so thought I would try posting here. As I understand it, when the box for Enable Acceleration Control and Enable Jerk Control are UNCHECKED in Cura, the acceleration values and jerk values default to the settings in the printer's firmware. I would like to know what these "default" values are as I am trying to get parts that are both dimensionally accurate and reduce ringing and bulging corners in the test cubes I am printing. I tried using 3000 for acceleration, but while this did reduce the ringing, it also increased the overall dims by about 0.2mm and the corners of the part are bulging. (Note: the dims I measure don't include the corners). I think it would be helpful to understand how far the value of 3000 is from the firmware default so I have a better chance of getting parts I am happy with. Thanks!
