Unnecessary z-hops

Hi,

Since the upgrade to Cura 2.7 my printer has started z-hopping during infill. It seems completely random, it will z-hop a couple times, then just turn around a couple times and then z-hop again for no apparent reason during a straight stretch of infill between to pararell walls. It's ruining my first layer and increasing the print time. Any ideas please?

This is the sort of behaviour that has been driving me nuts for ages in all versions of Cura. Here is a thread I started on the topic.

Cura 2.7 has issues with the Z hop function... 2.5 the Z hop worked for me... I've since just turned it off...i like the function it's a shame it's malfunctioning... but really the answer is to turn it off in 2.7

On some materials with higher viscosity the z hop literally pulls the filament out of the hotend, especially with larger nozzle diameters. In such cases I recommend to switch off the z hop. I do this for instance with UM Nylon and get significant better results without the z hop.

Thanks for the suggestions, i guess ill just turn it off for now then. Quite a shame really.
