Hello everyone, I'm an engineer student from Vietnam and working on this project which aims to build cheap robotic arms/hands for disable children.

After reading all recommendations and reviews carefully, I decided to purchased the Ultimaker3 Extended from a reseller in Singapore and just received the printer to my door a few hours ago.

However we unboxed it, we discovered this:

As you see, one of the feeder boxes is broken at screw holes and inside too (the small half circle cylinder), we literally haven't even assembled or turned it on yet.

We are kinda dont know how to handle this situation now, this is the first 3D printer of my life its quite a turn down, the shipping company in Vietnam denied their responsibility.

We really in need to use this printer like now it might take many weeks/months to ask for warranty.

Can you guys give me some suggestion to resolve this issue:

- Should I contact the Singaporean reseller to ask for replacement of the broken feeder and will it be charged?

- or should I try to create and print a support hanger with screw hole to attach the broken feeder?

Please, we are REALLY NEEDS this printer to start working for our project right now.

Absolutely. yes. Ask them to send you just the spare part. It may take a week or two.

You should do that also. Do both. Don't modify the printer without the reseller's permission but you should be able to get permission. They usually would rather just send you one spare part than have to receive and ship another entire printer *and* the fix it themselves.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
