AA0.4 is recognized as AA0.6

I have replaced a worn-out AA0.4 core on my UMS5 with a new one. However the S5 recognizes as "AA0.6", which doesn't even seem to exist (I know only of a AA0.8 and a CC0.6). I switched the printer off completely and rebooted it, and the issue remains. I also removed the AA0.4 and inserted it again using the Change routine, to no avail. Now I am manually overriding the AA0.6 directive on every print, and that works more-or-less, but it is a terrible nuisance. What can I do?  Thanks for any advice!

Note that original 3dsolex cores were called "Hardcore" in their eeprom but hitting "ignore" all the time got to be too much at some point especially with "cura connect" so now they are also "AA 0.4".

Thank you for your advice. I may have to reprogram the core via SSH then. However, I find it extremely troubling that a $150 factory-sealed original Ultimaker core is wrongly programmed to a nozzle size that doesn't even exist. Is this a common occurrence? If so, it's quite frightening. Alternatively, I am worried that the core may be OK and something inside the printer is messed up - which may potentially be worse...

I would reach out to your reseller about exchanging that Print Core.


It's not a common occurrence, and this should not be a problem with the printer, just the Print Core. Most likely when Print Cores are programmed there are probably 2 settings--pick AA, BB, or CC, and pick a size. Evidently someone hit the wrong size on the size option.


If there's an issue with the Printhead PCB board, it wouldn't read the Print Core at all, it wouldn't give it a wrong size. If the printhead PCB was the issue, it would give a message that said the Print Core wasn't recognized.
