Bug in stl import

Hi,

I am trying to import a stl model into cura, but it looks like it is not sliced correctly. This is the lid of a box and it should have an edge and then empty inside. It looks like cura is filing up the empty space.

I am using version 4.5 on linux with default settings.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I am quite new to cura and this model seems to be imported well in Slic3r.

Attached stl file and the screenshots of the model + sliced.

Thanks

This is a common issue.  If you created this in sketchup go back to your drawing and note that some walls are white and some are gray - right click on the gray walls and select "reverse faces".

    Best to fix your model.

Alternatively look at all the mesh features in cura - try unchecking "union overlapping volumes"

MeshTools also has an option to "fix" the normals. In case of flipped normals it unflips them. I am considering making it an option to always fix normals on import, but that may slow down loading huge models.
