Com port connection

Is it possible to disable the automatic com port connection in Cura?

An alternative - can I close the port connection from within Cura?

I have my own program I use for printer communication and I have to close Cura to make the port available for my program and then re-start cura and reload the model.  It's a bit annoying.

Well for 5.2.2 the market place does not reveal installed plugins for 'com' or 'serial'. Seems like it was folded in the the overall distro. There is a new plugin 'USB Printing NG' that is NOT installed on my system.

I have tried installing it hoping it would override the com port search, but it did not. Release notes indicate to disable original Com plugin but i can't find that setting anywhere.

All I see in the 5.2.2 MarketPlace under "Plugins" is the "USB Printing NG" version.

If you click on the "Gear" icon the old version is listed.  They are in alphabetical order so you need to scroll down to it.

You don't need them then make sure that neither is installed.
