SOLVED Strange support issue

I want to print a box that has an angled slot to hold a card.  Cura is placing support in the slot. And also a disconnected blob that doesn't touch anything.

I haven't seen this before.

Yeah support gets confused sometimes but not to worry - you don't need support there (maybe you don't need it anywhere can can turn it off).

 

You can disable that support with the support blocker feature yet still allow support on other features:

Thanks for the reply.  I used the support blocker on that entire area and the support still shows up.
Do you think that's just a display issue in the software?  

 

There are some areas that do need support so I can't turn it off.

The support blocker needs to cover the red area at the *top* of where the support goes - where the support is supporting.

 

Is that clear?  Don't put the support blocker where the support is - put the blocker where the "roof" or "overhang" is that is "red" in PREPARE mode.
