Hi,

Often getting started is the most difficult part of any process. A good start sets you up for success and saves you time and energy that could be spent elsewhere. It also allows you to get more out of your product and enjoy the benefits faster. That is why we have an onboarding course ready for:

They're ready for you on the Ultimaker Academy platform!

Bonus tip: Entirely new to 3D printing? You may run into a lot of new terminology. Make sure you fully understand what everyone is on about and follow this course about FFF terminology!

@Ste_297 You can also try to open a ticket at support.ultimaker.com maybe it is faster to get a solution. Unfortunately I got no feedback yet, but I guess the person I wrote is currently on vacation.

Hi @Ste_297, I hope you are well. I just wanted to check in to see if you decided to send a ticket or if you need any further assistance. I just returned from holidays and will be able to help you if you need me to. Have a great day 🙂

Oh my bad, I see that my link was not the right one. You should be able to see more Academy content via this link (academy.ultimaker.com ) and the specific S5 onboard course you can find via this link: https://academy.ultimaker.com/learn/course/41/start-with-the-ultimaker-s5

    Apologies, hope this works now!

    - I'll also update the link in my previous reply to prevent others from clicking the wrong link too.

    Hello everybody.

I guess that there is no available training material for those who own a Ultimaker 3, right ? Why so ? Is this printed not supported any more ?

Not all the courses are printer specific (there's a one hour intro to FFF 3d printing class).

If you spent a lot of extra money for these classes, then you should probably indeed ask for your money back.  These courses are not free (well it looks like you can do a 30 day trial for free maybe).

But yes, I would expect to get less updates and less support as the years go by (I don't work for Ultimaker so I could be wrong).

Hello, while some courses get unlocked with certain software plans like Ultimaker Professional and Ultimaker Excellence, the onboarding courses are free when you have an Ultimaker account. More info about it here.

Why is there no course for the Ultimaker 3? Given the resources it costs to develop these courses we have decided to focus on our newest product line first (S-line). Also knowing that good resources already exist for the Ultimaker 3, as you can find on these pages. Hope this helps, and if you have any questions during your onboarding, feel free to ask. We're here to help!

Incredible! This blog is just like my previous one!

Despite being on a completely different subject, it has a layout and design that are very similar. Fantastic colour selection!

      • UltiMaker Cura 5.3 stable released
In this stable release, Cura 5.3 achieves yet another huge leap forward in 3D printing thanks to material interlocking! As well as introducing an expanded recommended print settings menu and lots of print quality improvements. Not to mention, a whole bunch of new printer profiles for non-UltiMaker printers!

      • Here it is. The new UltiMaker S7
The UltiMaker S7 is built on the success of the UltiMaker S5 and its design decisions were heavily based on feedback from customers.

        So what’s new?
The obvious change is the S7’s height. It now includes an integrated Air Manager. This filters the exhaust air of every print and also improves build temperature stability. To further enclose the build chamber the S7 only has one magnetically latched door.

The build stack has also been completely redesigned. A PEI-coated flexible steel build plate makes a big difference to productivity. Not only do you not need tools to pop a printed part off. But we also don’t recommend using or adhesion structures for UltiMaker materials (except PC, because...it’s PC). Along with that, 4 pins and 25 magnets make it easy to replace the flex plate perfectly – even with one hand.

The re-engineered print head has an inductive sensor which reduces noise when probing the build plate. This effectively makes it much harder to not achieve a perfect first layer, improving overall print success. We also reversed the front fan direction (fewer plastic hairs, less maintenance), made the print core door magnets stronger, and add a sensor that helps avoid flooding.

The UltiMaker S7 also includes quality of life improvements:
Reliable bed tilt compensation (no more thumbscrews) 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi A 1080p camera (mounted higher for a better view) Compatibility with 280+ Marketplace materials Compatibility with S5 project files (no reslicing needed) And a whole lot more
Curious to see the S7 in action?
We’re hosting a free tech demo on February 7.
It will be live and you can ask any questions to our CTO, Miguel Calvo.

      • UltiMaker Cura Alpha 🎄 Tree Support Spotlight 🎄
Are you a fan of tree support, but dislike the removal process and the amount of filament it uses? Then we would like to invite you to try this special release of UltiMaker Cura. Brought to you by our special community contributor @thomasrahm

We generated a special version of Cura 5.2 called 5.3.0 Alpha + Xmas. The only changes we introduced compared to UltiMaker Cura 5.2.1 are those which are needed for the new supports. So keep in mind, this is not a sneak peek for Cura 5.3 (there are some really cool new features coming up) but a spotlight release highlighting this new version of tree supports.
