Can't log into Ultimaker account in Cura

Hello all, 

 

I've just ordered my first 3d printer (Ender 3) and wanted to familiarize myself with Cura before it arrives. After download, during set up, I wasn't able to click the link (nothing happened when clicked) to create an Ultimaker account, so I went directly to the website to do so. After the program was finished setting up, I tried again signing in, but every time I click the link, nothing happens. There's no prompt, no new window, nothing. 

 

I'm using an Asus i5 laptop with Windows 8.1 and Google Chrome is this helps at all.

You don't have to create an Ultimaker account to use Cura and I'm not sure if there are any advantages to having one if you don't have an Ultimaker printer.

 

Often when a browser link doesn't do anything it's because of a popup blocker or ad blocker.  Usually you can see that on the right edge of the address bar - click all the icons to the right of the address bar in chrome particularly if you see a puzzle piece.

The backups require an account. It's also easier to manage your installed plugins over multiple machines.

It happened to me too. Just disable pop-up or change your browser
