Connect to digital factory via Ethernet connected Ultimaker S5 pro bundle

I bought Ultimaker S5 pro bundle from UAE reseller but the wifi settings are not accessible, the wifi settings are grayed out.

I contacted Ultimaker but no reply, so i though of connecting a wifi extender and then connect it to the printer though Ethernet, is it possible? If yes then can i connect my this Ethernet connected printer to my digital factory?

The printer needs a network/internet connection for Digital factory. It doesn't matter if this connection is a wifi or ethernet connection. And if you connect ethernet via cable towards a network switch or a cable to any other device which is able to provide a network connections makes no difference.

 

But you should be aware that in best case your printer gets its IP address via DHCP from your network. If this is not possible, take a look on the support pages, there is also a way to configure the IP address manually via a config file which you "upload" with the USB stick.

 

A normal wifi extender will not work, you need a device which is capable to act as a wifi client and routes the traffic to the ethernet port. Wifi extenders don't do this normally, but it depends on your device.
