Posted · Prime Blob not always working on U3S

I use a U3S with Ultimaker Cura 4.11 and firmware 6.5.1 and I thought that this problem was fixed with one of the previous firmware updates but up until just recently I noticed it hasnt. My problem is when my printer finishes a print it stops extruding and raises about 3 mm away from the print and sits there (I assume the printer is waiting for the bed to cool down or the nozzle too) then just before the bed lowers and the screen asks me to confirm removal, the extruder pulls filament like an inch back from the nozzle and stops. When I go to print my next print following that the filament is so far back from the nozzle the prime blob attempts to work but the filament is so far away from the nozzle it doesn't even work and it starts printing air. The only time I have had luck with this is if I load filament, allow it to flow smoothly, confirm the filament is flowing smoothly, then print immediately after. I think this could be a bug or possibly just a fix to a setting but if anyone knows why this is happening please comment. Additionally my current workaround is to loosen the lock on the extruder and force the filament back into the nozzle by hand before each print, then the prime blob gets way too big and becomes a mess.
