Can you explain a bit more about what is happening? Is this a UM1 or a UM2, or something else?

What are you trying to print? What do you expect to happen? And what actually happens?

hi very good morning

i was trying to print a skull and i have found that my print is not matching the 3d model it is some what same but it got distorted by Y and squeeze by Z.

my settings in cura shows me XYZ are (49.5, 67.99, 54.99) but it has printed like (49, 73.26, 47).

am trying to post some pics but i couldn't make it can you tell me where to post pics.

Hi kesav,

Is this the Ultimaker 1 or 2? The most common cause of this (on the UM1 at least) is that your belts are not tight enough. Especially the short belts. That shouldn't affect the Z stage but it can drastically change the dimensions in your XY plane. Make sure all of your belts are tight and see how it goes.

ya i have checked belts those are looking fine and i used some objects to make the axis Aline also so that regarding axis is fine i believe.

i forget to mention my printer is a UM1 DIY i was jest learning you know am an artist i try to make my own 3d printer and

i made it its printing fine but not in the proper dimensions. a was trying to fix this issu but con'd make it

I'm not sure if you can post pictures before 5 posts but the way you do it is go to upper left corner of this page, click "Gallery" then "upload". After you finish uploading make a new post, click "my media", then "gallery images".

If you do not see the "upload" button in the gallery than you will have to post the images somewhere else such as flicker, imgur, facebook, google plus. Then link to the image from your post here.

The 49 is completely normal and expected. PLA shrinks as it cools.

The 73 and 47 seem impossible. Maybe these axes are slipping? I'd like to see a picture of your finished part. Consider looking at the Z coupler under your bed and make sure the Z screw is all the way in. Compare to assembly pictures - you should see threads almost to the coupler like in assembly pictures.

If Y axis slips you will see a slanted part and will be very obvious. Maybe the Y dimensions included a nose or chin or something that didn't print properly.

this box's (10 10 10) printed different times but almost the same size it has printed (10.3 11.02 8.49).

I would concentrate on the Z issue as if Z is not moving far enough, then you get overextrusion and it messes up X and Y axis dimensions.

With the platform half way down, try lifting it with your hands. Does the z screw come up out of the coupler? It should stay in.

I'm thinking maybe your Z axis is loose or slipping. Look at the photo in the assembly instructions - is your Z screw inserted all the way? How much can you see of the Z screw above the coupler? Compare that to the photo in assembly instructions. It needs to be all the way in, or it won't rotate properly.

Make sure the set screws in the Z coupler are tight.

If everything seems fine then try calibrating the Z axis by moving it 10mm at a time with a ruler taped against the side of your ultimaker.
