Hi, surfing the net I came across this interesting plug-in which, from what is shown on the page, can also be integrated into other slicers ...

The question is: has anyone tried installing the plugin on CURA?
It could be a very interesting plug-in to put together with the ones already present.
I leave the link to the GitHub page for those interested in trying and sharing their experience

    From the GitHub site:

"We are expecting a certain clearance around the nozzle, so make sure there is space around -- basically a 45 degree cone going up from the nozzle tip on at least 5 centimeters, but larger parts may require more clearance. The angle to optimize for can be controlled from the command line."

Non-planar slicing comes up every once in a while.  Here is a CHEP video from a couple of years ago.  There has been some noise regarding the patents on the technology (AutoDesk, University of Hamburg, et al).  I believe @nallath has a better take on that.

It's not a plugin that can be installed with Cura (if it was, we would have already implemented this in the main code years ago!). Getting this to work with Cura in such a way that we can release it as a full release would take a lot of work. We are currently super busy with making sure that apple M1 hardware is supported, as well as finishing up Arachne.

There is also some other work in the same area https://xyzdims.com/

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
