Hello all,

My last print with the new cura 14.03 gave bad results, here are 2 pictures of the same object printed with both cura 14.02 and 14.03.

With cura 14.03 every circle shape part are very bad.

cura142cura143

The result was even worst than what you can see on the picture (actually I sanded the part a bit)

I used default settings on both print and same temperature same filament and same height (0.2)

Do you experienced something similar ? Do you know what is causing this bad result ?

Thanks in advance!

Didero

Which RC did you use? There were several RC which were labelled with 14.02. Or do you mean the last official version before 14.03? This would be 14.01.

Did you check the gcode? Is it different for the two versions? Some people like Repetier-Host for such comparisons, I prefer the gcode viewer at http://gcode.ws.

When printing the same object from older cura consider doing:

file "load profile from gcode..." and then choose the older object you had sliced. This will load the newer cura with the older settings.

Can you post a link to the STL file that you are slicing please?

Yeah, getting the exact same results here, 14.03 is unusable. Posted about it in another thread already, but will actually take a photo of a comparison I did the other day. 14.03, whether USB or via Ulticontroller, slows down drastically during curved sections and causes massive overextrusion there. The same files print fine using 14.01, USB or Ulti.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I used the last 14.03. I always print with the ulticontroller.

I will try the trick from gr5 advice (old/new profil).

I tried to upload the stl file but I'm not allowed to do so !

@Daid, Does that problem will be taken into account as a Cura "bug" ?

I think it's the same problem as reported as the speed issue. Where 14.03 is generating too many small segments for high detailed prints, causing the printer to slow down (with all quality problems as result)
