When I acquired my S5, the USB port wasn't recognizing USB stick, but was working well when I needed to setup the WiFi connection

Now, I wanted to fix this issue and found the cable that is going from the front panel (where you put the USB stick) to the motherboard is damaged (1st photo)

Where may I find such cable to replace the actual one ?

Your local Ultimaker reseller will know for sure, but they are probably much more expensive than finding a "panel-mounted USB OTG cable"

NB: I am actually not 100% sure it is a USB OTG cable (or what the exact difference is between a USB cable and a USB OTG cable) but all the micro-USB to USB-A cables that I have seen of this gender are USB OTG cables.

You could try using something small (like a pin or a toothpick or I'm not good at thinking of examples) to try and get that bent pin back into position.

That just looks like a standard USB extension cord though, Type A male to Type A female. There's absolutely no shortage of those, just look on Amazon or whatever. It might not exactly fit into that bracket, but that's what you have a 3D printer for 🙂

FWIW: USB On The Go isn't a type of cable, it's a (fairly old) protocol designed so that things like smartphones which are usually peripherals (remember the days when you had to plug your phone into your computer to sync stuff?) act as a USB host and connect to peripherals on its own (like reading a USB drive or connecting to a keyboard). You do get cables called OTG cables because they're usually port combinations you wouldn't normally see (like type Micro USB Type B male to USB Type A Female to connect a device to a micro USB port on a phone before we were blessed by USB Type C).

Oops, sorry, the one I linked to is a type-c cable which will not plug in to the UM S5 board. I removed the link to prevent confusion.

Thanks for all the comments, it's been quite helpful while searching for the reference

For a S5 1st gen (<2020), the cable ref is "201283 A Cable Usb Female Panel Mount Ultimaker"

For a S5 2nd gen (>2020), the cable ref is "215 569 USB Extension panel mount cable Ultimaker"

I hope this will help any other user 👌

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
