I don't know all the different brands that are available or I would have done a poll out of curiosity. If like me you have purchased than 1 brand of filament. Is there one brand in particular that you gravitate towards? Or do you base it on the item to be printed and the filament type required.

Colorfabb PLA is actually not really "top". XT is a whole other story, but XT is not PLA.

Faberdashery PLA is definetly the best stuff if you need the very best colors.

    /edit:

Note, that's just my personal opinion!

With a name like Andrew White and your wording I assume you're in the UK? If yes, see my review of Spectrum Filaments. I've had good success with them, plus they're one of the few that are clear about the dimensions of the filament, i.e. 2.85mm and not 3mm. I hate to intentionally buy filament that even claims to be the wrong size, even when I know that in practise that isn't the case.

Also it should be noted that Faberdashery I think doesn't come on a reel. I prefer a reel as I feel that buying short lengths results in a lot of waste.

That`s correct Faberdashery does not come reeled. It`s my go-to filament, quality is superb and the range of colours is excellent. Not the cheapest though!

I've been using a couple different ebayers who are close to me in the U.S. It' s cheap, prints great, and so far I haven't had any deformations or complaints. It's about $25 per roll (single) or $20 per roll if I buy 10 at once. plenty of colors to choose from.

@andrew white - what country are you in and also please update your profile settings to indicate that country in your location field. The answer to your question depends on what country you are in as there are dozens (hundreds?) of suppliers of PLA alone.

@ gr5 Location updated, i'm in Northern Ireland. I currently have mostly Faberdashery & some Colourfabb was just wondering if there was any other suppliers out there worth considering.

@DonMilne the wording my not be great as i have dyslexia, I will have a look at your spectrum review. Quick check of the name shows them as being about 20 mile up the road from me in Newry so thats handy.
