Is 14.03 still the current version? I tried it several months back and it was buggy, also produced surface artifacts, I'm still using 14.01. I just went to download a new version, hoping there'd be one, and it's still 14.03... what's the go?

Try 14.07. Slicing quality has significantly improved compared to 14.03. However, the slicing resolution of 14.07 is still higher than that of 14.01 so minor defects in the model can still affect print quality.

Hi Dim3nsioneer, when you say slicing resolution, do you mean the thinnest layer height possible or the accuracy of the layer height?

Neither of them. It's the x/y position resolution which was increased. So in 14.03 you got different slice paths if you moved a wall by a very tiny amount. This led to strange slicing artefacts due to numerical uncertainties. In 14.07 there are some counter measures implemented to avoid such effects AFAIK. Daid could certainly tell more about it and there might even be a post on this forum about it (I guess it's in the 14.03 quality thread).

Try to use the latest version whenever possible. We will not go into bug / bad result reports about older versions.

thanks guys... weird, not sure what page I was on last night, but latest version was 14.03

The latest version is something like 14.07. Our version numbering is based on Major.minor.revision, which means its year.month.revision.

14.03 would be a 4 month old build.
