i try to keep some spares of parts, materials, bits and bobs around for ... just in case. my printer is sometimes on the road so i also have a box with a few things in case something goes wrong.

a few of the things I have:

- spare printed sliding blocks

- feeder gears

- nuts, bolts, washers

- oil

- belt tensioners

- calibration tools

- hex set

- teflon insulator gasket

- ...

what do you keep for emergencies, both in your workshop and on the road?

    - blue tape in case the HB fails

    - gorilla/duck tape in case of the UM falls :-)

For transport I´m thinking of seperate the feeder stepper wires by a connector to make it easier to place it safe instead of at the back of the UMO

I second the heater, thermistor, all things electrical...

A lot of the other stuff you can potentially hack together to still make work if they should break...

    - A cracked slider block?... : Glue it a bit or give it some gaffa... It will hold up until you print a new one...

But stuff like the heater, thermistor, even maybe a spare stepper, stepstick etc... You cant temporarily fix those if they break, and you are left with buying new ones and waiting for delivery... That could be 3-6 weeks if they have to arrive from say... China

I agree, lots of bits to fix things. electric bits I need to do.

The sliding blocks I have are printed and don't need to pull off a rod to replace a piece. already needed to replace a piece and I was glad I had a spare.

Having spare printer blocks is a good idea, do you know where I can get the file to print it?

i replaced mine with http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:45236. don't tighten the three bolts too much otherwise you can restrict movement. always thought the one screw on the stock controlling all those functions is too brilliant. adjusting belt tension is great with these.

    Depending on your hot end/feeder:

    Bowden tube collet locks!

possibly even a bownden tube(if it gets squashed or something)
