  1. Grrr...... not funny..... Print an Ultimaker on your Ultimaker in tribute to the new Ultimaker. Then you would've covered 3 Ultimakers and everyone would be happy.
  2. A few days can be a long time...... In the meantime, I'll satisfy myself with this:
  3. isn't that the case with any hobby lol true. I'm just careful to keep everything as cheap as I can And I just noticed that under your name the UM3 is listed as one of your printers. Like HOW. Did you beta test it or something?
  4. Yeah, I kinda wish Ultimaker would come out w/ a budget printer or something that's newer than the UMO and UMO+ but still within 1k. I'm an UMO+ fanboy, and I wish Ultimaker considered an UMO++, but I guess that would be just an UMO+ with the (UM2+) upgrade kit (which @neotko has already done with very cool results). For now I'd like to see cool new features, and if possible, I would like even more if those new features were adapted to the UMO(+) by the community! I'm 100% in if someone wants to hack some Ultimakers. True, a UMO+ style kit version of the UM2 or UM3 would be nice....... And yeah, Ultimaker hacking is awesome (that's kinda why I bought the UMO+ in the first place), but my big issue with it is that you usually end up buying more parts and spending extra money on something that wasn't exactly cheap in the first place.
  5. And sorry if it seems like I'm questioning your expertise, which I'm definitely not trying to do. I just feel like nylon should probably work with PEI, but again, I haven't used it myself.
  6. Also, if you look at the 5 Years of Ultimaker page, you can see that the UM3 has much thinner edges for the panels. I wonder if that means they've gotten a sturdier material for the frame.
  7. Yeah, I kinda wish Ultimaker would come out w/ a budget printer or something that's newer than the UMO and UMO+ but still within 1k.
  8. Sorry to spoil your dreams, but you're one day too slow : https://ultimaker.com/en/community/23090-ultimaker-3-dual-extrusion We all want that beast for free man
  9. Here's another video that I watched a while ago: If you need printing help, check out that guy's channel (it's called Thomas Sanladerer). He's got great reviews, guides, tips, etc.
  10. Try cranking up the bedtemp, relevel the bed, and lower the layer height: https://forum.lulzbot.com/viewtopic.php?t=1594 Also, you might want to wipe down the PEI w/ some alcohol to clean it.
  11. Which brand of nylon? Taulman? And what bedtemp did you use?
  12. Ultimaker has never offered an enclosure (except in the new Advance Printing Kit thing), so yeah, this one probably doesn't have one either. And warping? I can't really see it. Maybe it's just a filleted edge or a very very slight warp, but I mean, Ultimaker made this for advertising purposes, so they probably didn't use an imperfect model.
  13. O hey Ultimaker released a new teaser vid with a green and black drill. Man those colors look crisp!
  14. What? I'm sorry, but I frankly didn't understand half of that. Damage? To what?
  15. Okay, maybe polycarbonate was an exaggeration, and I'm not sure how that will work because it's such a difficult material (maybe it will, I can't say for certain). But you get my idea.
  16. First of all, I do have to say that I've never tried PEI before, but I have heard a lot of great things about it, and if I were in your shoes, I would definitely go for it. Also before getting to what I've read, here is a video that I find useful. It goes over many types of build surfaces: Okay, so just like a summary of what I know, PEI is incredibly good for bed adhesion when heated. The Prusa i3 Mk2 and the Lulzbots use it, and overall, it seems to be the "miracle surface" that works better than practically everything else out there: blue tape, kapton tape, abs slurry, glue, etc. I mean, if Alephobjects uses it for all of the Lulzbots, it should mean that it works consistently for something like ABS and probably polycarbonate as well. However, just a friendly word of caution: you don't want a sheet too thick, but on the other hand, thin sheets will be more difficult to apply. Hope that helped! nerdwarrior
  17. Well I guess the definition of "expensive" varies from person to person. If Ultimaker went for a simple dual extrusion solution it might still hover around the $2500 mark. But maybe this time it will reach 3k or sth because of the dual extrusion. Not sure. Your guesses?
  18. YESSSSSSSSSSSS I wonder how they approached it. Prusa and Prometheus System Y-splitter style? Or BCN3D independent extruders? Or something else entirely? First reaction: LOL dat was so good **like for you**. Second reaction: Well Ultimaker isn't exactly cheap, is it? **sigh**
  19. I'm so excited abt this thing but man, printers are expensive And I already have a UMO+...... If only I could get my hands on one of these...... **sigh**
  20. I just played the video at 1/4 speed. I'M HOPEFUL.
  21. Oh true...... XD I'll have to wait until the 18th.
  22. Hey guys so it's been a while since I visited the Ultimaker website and as soon as I came on I saw the Ultimaker 3 thing and I watched the vid. AND I THINK IT'S GOT DUAL EXTRUSION. That print that they show has some crazy overhangs, and when the color briefly changes towards the end, it seems to show the print stuck in a block of yellowish plastic THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE PVA and I remember that somewhere in the forum Daid or someone (sorry if I got the name wrong) said that dual extrusion was the most-wanted feature and that it would be one great thing to add. SORRY FOR MY RAMBLING AND HORRIBLE GRAMMAR BUT I'M SO EXCITED. Can someone please confirm for me that what I saw was dual extrusion? Sincerely, nerdwarrior
  23. Okay, thank you so much! I'll try and find a fan that works from a local shop, and hopefully I'll have it installed by the end of the year and post some pics (I'm kind of busy). Thank you so much for your help!
  24. Okay, thank you! I'll try to be careful So as of right now, the led pwm seems to be some work.... Connecting it to the other fan port with probably be easier, but I'm still struggling with the concept of how to enable it. This fan should work, right? https://www.amazon.com/40mm-Amounts-Mounts-Directly-Motor/dp/B00I5090U8/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1474104201&sr=8-11&keywords=40mm+fan+24v
