Feeder too tight

I know there have been alot of problems with feeders chewing filament and its happening to me too. I notice the white chip is not all the way to the top and pushing it doesnt help. Do I have to unscrew the cover to get to it?

The metal grommet goes at the bottom of the feeder. It keeps the PLA from grinding away at the black nylon case and getting nylon up into your nozzle causing clogs.

so now I think the rear motor falling is keeping me from putting the screws back into the feeder they just spin like there stripped (but there not) I lifted the motor a tiny bit. Any tips for making sure that is seated properly?

    Thanks

you have to remove that metal cover.  It's held in by one screw somewhere along the edge of the cover. The white cover on the inside of the machine that covers both the stepper motors.

Is it 1 on newer machines? Mine has 2. One in the side panel and one in the rear panel...

Two for newer machines is correct. I think it was only in the very beginning it was only one screw.
