Speed it up

Our board game is now in production as customizable product for The Netherlands. (http://jeexgame.com/ontwerp-jouw-eigen-jeex-game/).

That's nice. So now i've got two UM2's printing non stop and i am looking for a faster way to print the game. The designs are speed-optimized, but still it takes about 22 hours to print one game.

Also optimized costs of printing by buying less expensive (but equal quality) filament. I now use http://hestay.nl in stead of Colorfabb. That does however not change the need for speed.

So: any ideas on printing faster?

Not sure how big the pieces are, or how big the details are on your prints. But one way to speed things up is to get an Olsson block and print with a 0.8mm nozzle. Go to 3dsolex.com to find your closest source.

i Uses his 0.6 nozzle, bigger is not possible.

I find .8mm with one shell layer stronger than .4mm two shell layers. I'm not sure how strong a single pass with .6mm is though.

Is .8mm not possible because you have walls too thin? If so consider buying simplify 3D. I don't have it but I hear good things about it - you can customize certain areas of your print for different features so you could maybe lie and say the nozzle is .6mm for some walls and then tell the truth for other parts of the print.

Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look at Simplify 3D as simplifying untill now saved me about 30% of printing time and i think it can still be more efficient.

I think i like this game.

Just curious what price do you ask? Are you still going to kickstarter with it? Any plans on selling it as a downloadable for self printing?

Price now is 40 Euro. It's worth it. Jeex really is the sharpest boardgame for two.

As soon as i get production time down, price goes down also.
