Sign me up for this too. At the very least, the LED should go out when its done printing, not stay on until after i hit confirm removal. If i have a print that finishes at Friday at 7pm, I dont want the printer light on at full blast all weekend. A setting of "upon print completion" with a 3 step slider with settings of "off" "dim" and "flash" would be great.

Thank you for making your position clear.

@Carla_Birch Your S5 is clearly affected by the led bug that has been fixed in the current firmware (or should be). If you are already on firmware version 5.1.7, please perform a Cura connect reset and check the brightness settings again.

Have done that tonight and the led is the same, that’s just how bright they are in a dark room on the lowest setting what for me is not a problem but I can understand why some really would like them to be able to go totally off.

Thank you for sharing your experience after completing the FW update; like you; I see no change.

Right ok just got home from travels in Asia so I haven't waited until everyone goes to bed but I hope you can see the problem here @SandervG - this is lowest light setting possible, I have taken a few photos to prove.

Obviously in a couple of hours my neighbours outside light will be off and our house lights will be off and then this becomes super obvious that there is something going on in my garage which is not good.

All I want is an option for Frame Lights on/off.  If they are on their brightness corresponds to the frame light slider and if they are off they are off.

    Ditto!!!!!!

Thank you for sharing the pictures and your comments as they mirror mine.

Furthermore, I will share again that I made this concern known to Ultimaker on day one of receiving the S5 and was assured that it was soon to be resolved.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
