UM2+ First Layer Problem

Recommended Posts

Posted · UM2+ First Layer Problem

Good night, I am having this error in pieces, only in one part of the bed. I understand that it may be a leveling error. But I already leveled it several times. What else can you think of that could be? It is only the first layer. I have rotated the piece 45 degrees the piece and discovered that it is only in that point of the bed. Thx so much.

I'm having a very similar problem to you and would love to know what is going on. I too have levelled multiple times. My UM2+ is second hand, my other printer definitely does not need this much bed levelling attention so I feel the issue is comign from something else.

The first photo looks like poor adhesion to the bed,. Maybe due to:

    - Nozzle too high? If so, adjust bed-leveling so that gap is thinner.

    - Dirty, soapy, oily bed? If so, clean with isopropyl alcohol, then with pure tap water.

    - Maybe other reasons?

So I would first look into that direction.

The second photo, I can't really say.

this can also happen if the nozzle is too close to the bed.

If its only in that one spot though I would make sure its properly cleaned. Make sure you printing on the correct side of the glass (side with hot warning sticker)  and the appropriate adhesion method is evenly applied.
