Ugh. I have about had it with this new firmware. I was having adhesion trouble so I aborted the print, cleaned the build plate, and then walked away. About 45 minutes later I came back to this mess! There was no option to even cancel the print because apparently it retried without my approval.

This "auto" retry happened to me also in the firmware before or even in 5.8.0 not sure.

But I couldn't find out when or in which cases the printer will do this mystic reprint an aborted job.

    The other thing:
Klicked at Print core change, click abort, not working. I had to restart the printer after minutes of waiting.

    Hi Jonas,

Maybe the change printcore did not work correctly after the error? It has been tested well under normal circumstances (with material parked above the printcore) by us, but I have seen a case where it did not work correctly after the printer was in a errors state. We are currently looking into this case. Can you confirm that the change printcore works with material in the parked position?

Was the abort finished and did you press "confirm removal"? Or was there something else still going on?

Hmm, I think the abort somehow got aborted. It would be really nice to see the log files, but I'm guessing they are already rotated away by now. If you see it again, please file a rapport and send us the logfiles.

Meanwhile I will see if we can reproduce this.

I don't know how long it takes for the old files to cycle out but I do have the USB flash drive inserted

They cycle with every reboot (and it keeps the previous one). So you always have now + previous logfiles and it cycles once it exceeds 64Mb.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
