A problem has been identified with the 4.8 beta on Big Sur. It will be fixed with the final release of Cura 4.8.0, which will likely be released next week. If you really want to run the beta on Big Sur, there are steps but they are somewhat involved.

Will the problem fixed with Cura (still in 4.8), Win 10 and the network disks , which obviously manifests itself in many cases and the only solution for now is to disconnect the network ... which is not very convenient?

Can confirm this does not fix the issue at least on my 8bit Formbot TREX 3. Circular/curved surface finish on the same printer is still better in S3D with similar print settings. Will continue investigating issue a report back if I make progress.

Big Sur is still beta, so it is possible that Cura doesn't work yet with Big Sur.
