Posted · TPU 95A oozing every layer while existing for head swap

I am printing some TPU parts and i could not figure out how to prevent oozing.

Part picture is shown

Print temp : 220 C

Speed : 30 mm/s

Fan Speed 100%

Nozzle is 0.8

Layer Height : 0.2mm

I tried to lower temp but it did not help.

Speed I dont want to reduce then recommended as there lots of comopnents i have to print.

I think the Ultimaker S3 is also using the same feeder type as the S5 so because of the bowden tube behind the feeder the filament gets pressed in (its elastic) and since the nozzle stays hot the filament will ooze out.

Best to get rid of this is adding some extra retraction at a layer change, an other solution is making a prime tower so the ooze gets stuck on the prime tower and not on your print.

    Hi @jvaria,

TPU (95A) is prone to attract water moisture direct from the air, so when the filament is affected, oozing will increase due to expanding "water vapor pressure" when filament enter the hot extruder.

However, this is discussed some in here and here is a link about this problem and suggestion to improvement:

    Good luck.
