I'm having a lot of issues slicing models using my Mac, sometimes they won't slice at all other times they won't slice in one orientation.  I have reported this twice as a bug and sent the log file and the model but not had any feedback - I can slice them using my old windows 10 laptop - but it's a pain to keep porting them across.  Is anyone else having similar problems

Were you able to get this fixed? On my M2 Mac, Cura 5.4.0 the sliced output was missing all of the skin. The output was just internal triangle supports. I noticed a portion of Super Quality profile was empty, in the Top/Bottom section and I clicked an option to generate it and then it filled in the settings with 7 layers (top and bottom). After that, slicing was OK for most of the model but still missing skin in a region of the model. Maybe coincidence but it was a vertical portion.

I don't know if the app is getting messed with by Rosetta because it will ask if I want to reload the model because it was modified.

    Thank you

Cura 5.4 has some pretty weird bugs that occasionally show up in slicing. Try using 5.3.1 instead.

Missing skin is a common problem with cura 5.4.  Try adjusting the "maximum resolution".  Check what you have it set to, move it to 0.5 or beyond.  If that fixes the issue, then it should be fixed in the next cura release.

Damnit I keep forgetting to suggest that when I suggest an earlier version.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
