I read this thread and i mange to solve the top layer problem. In my situation, it was a matter of calibrating the e-steps. I download the TinkerGnome firmware since you can change easily the e-steps on the lcd display. My current e-steps were 282. After doing the whole re calibration my new value was 402. Now my top layer look very good. So for anyone maybe tried calibrating the e-steps. There are videos on youtube how to do it easily. I solve this problem on the UM2Go
