I've seen that this could be a problem with the Arduino Board. I tried to solve it updating the driver manually to let see the computer the board... but seems that doesn't work..
Is there a way to download the ultimaker 2 driver directly??
I tried everything but nothing seems to work. I extracted the driver folder from cura but seems that the drivers inside doesn't work either..
Ok... I am lost.
Each time we upgrade Cura must be load a new firmware to the printer?
Not always. But one in a while the firmware of the ultimaker (in this case the ultimaker 2) is upgraded and you should do it. Since the release the Ultimaker had 2 firmware upgrade. This is the second... and i don't know why i can't do it! My computer (3 computers) does not recognise anymore the ultimaker 2.
So i still have the former firmware.
Did you try a different cable? There's more help on the arduino webistes but here's how to debug USB issues...
usb debugging (post #7):

Yeah! Incredible but was the cable! I updated the ultimaker finally!
I see however that the led brightness problem is still there..

Did you install the drivers when you installed cura?
