Posted · which paper thickness to calibrate bed?

Hi,

My Ultimaker 2 arrived yesterday and I had to callibrate the bed (like everybody).

Now, I just wonder which paper thickness we should use to callibrate the bed?

I used 80g/m^2 paper double folded

What is your experience?

I use 80gm2 also, and as fingerpuk allready said, don't fold it. Once you did it 2 or 3 times you will get the feeling. You can also while the printer is laying down the first few lines (skirt if configured) still adjust it carefully (like 1/4 or 1/2 a turn) no problem. HAPPY PRINTING!

I did it again with a paper of 80g/m^2, not folded! Th result is much much better!

    Thank for your help!

Paper varies quite a bit, and you need to use the same paper all the time, if possible.

If you use flat metal feeler gauges, I find that a bit of drag on .002" (or .05mm) is about right.
