Are there any Ultimakers in East Germany ?

I am in Leipzig and am looking for other ultimaker users in the area.

Hello Ian,

I can't say I have much experience as I just finished my build. What do you consider "in the area"? I am in Rostock. Perhaps there are some hackerspaces in Berlin or Hamburg?

Sorry IAN, I haven't checked back here in a while... Nice that you found someone in the same town! I'm leaning towards starting my own space, a plan I've had for some time... I am currently training some students/introducing them to the technology... I already have a room setup for electronics/product design (Reflow oven, Electronics equipment, CNC-machine, Plastic bender, Ultimaker...planing to get a lasercutter end of the year).

...and yes I've made some nice parts from thingiverse but am still working on perfecting the machine...building a better feeder, upgrading to prints from sd card. The 3d printing capability has led me to spend more time learning how to design 3d parts, and also machine them with my CNC (previously only by 2+1/2D).

Unfortunately I am always strapped for time, as I am a doctor for my dayjob (My interests lie in prototyping and product design in the paramedical field.)

I know that Sebastian also got his lovely UM2 in Leipzig city a few weeks ago... so the numbers are slowly mounting... :smile:

Would it be a nice idea to organise a meeting of as many ultimaker owners in east germany this year in summer ?

ich hab zwar keinen Ultimaker, aber ich meld mich mal trozdem.

ich hab einen Mendel mit Dualextruder, er läft jetzt stabil seit April/Mai 2013

ich komme ganz aus dem Osten zu Polen und Tschechien.

Hallo,

ich lebe in Ilmenau (in der Nähe von Erfurt). Ich habe letzten Sonntag meinen Ultimaker 1 fertig gebaut und bin sehr begeistert!

Bei einem Usertreffen wäre ich dabei. Bier, (Thüringer! :-P) Bratwurst und 3D-Druck klingt gut.

ich habe mir einen Ultimaker 1 gekauft.

Er ist noch nicht fertig.

Der Controller ist auch noch nicht geliefert.

Ich kann nicht sagen, wann ich fertig mit dem Bau bin. Ich kann ja nur am Wochenende bauen.

Wenn ich Hilfe benötige, werde ich mich bei Dir melden. Danke für Dein Hilfe Angebot.

Ich denke, wenn ich fertig bin, melde ich mich bei Dir, wir treffen uns mal hier in LE und Du kannst mir ein paar Tips geben. OK?

Ich arbeite bei einem großen Energieversorger, Bereich Telekommunikation.

Das mit dem Du ist o.k. In Deutschland verwendet man in Foren immer das "Du".

Just hooked up my UM2 with OctoPrint. Works nicely!

Yes meeting in a big Messe hall is nice but would this not be a thousand times.... COOLER ???

Well, I think it depends on the scope of the meetup. Do you want an informal meetup with 10-20 people or a bigger event? Do you know sponsors who'd like to get involved?

The Festung is a very impressive location indeed! From what I gathered from the Festung Königstein website (http://www.festung.de/). I assume this means that we won't get electricity for 20-30 printers for free but you could try asking anyway. :smile:

He Leute, Sachsen scheint ja ne hohe UltiDichte zu haben... mein U2 steht aktuell in Nossen (Zentralsachsen) ab Freitag ist der aber beim FabLab Dresden im Einsatz.

Ich kenne noch Mindprinter (Ulti1 in Leipzig), und je ein U2 User in Dresden (bestellt) und Chemnitz (schon da, aber keine Zeit)

Achja und da es ja zum grillen noch zu kalt ist wie wäre es mit einem Treffen zum 3D Druck Talk am 14.2. ab 18 Uhr?
