So langsam verliere ich auch ein wenig die Geduld. Erst die Sache mit der Druckerplatte und dem S5 und nun die Geschichte mit dem Airmanager der nicht funktioniert weil die Firmware fehlerhaft ist.
Bei mir wurde der Airmanager mit der zurückgezogenen Firmware zwar als Option erkannt, aber wenn ich ihn auswählen wollte gab es einen "unbekannten Fehler" Da die Firmware bei mir so wieso noch andere mittlerweile bekannte Probleme bereitet habe ich mich dann wieder für das Downgrade entschieden.
Es ist leider immer wieder das gleiche. Die Kommunikation ist zum...........und sie verhalten sich immer wieder gleich. Es erinnert ein wenig an ein Kind das sich immer unsichtbar machen möchte wenn es was schlechtes zu berichten hat.
Ich bin schon sehr lange Kunde bei Ultimaker und habe schon einiges mitgemacht. Wenn der Drucker läuft ist alles super. Aber bis dahin ist es leider immer ein sehr steiniger Weg.
PS: Ich habe den Airmanager laut Sander van Gelen wohl zu früh von igo3d zugeschickt bekommen. Er teilte mir mit das die Firmware noch nicht fertig ist. (wie immer freundlich und hilfsbereit)
Am 20.10 knapp 2 Wochen nach der Lieferung habe ich dann mal igo3d informiert.......
Am 28.10 gab es dann immerhin schon eine offizielle Nachricht von igo3d, dass es Probleme mit der Firmware gibt. Mehr Inhalt hatte das Schreiben nicht.

Die Firmware unterstützt noch keine Material Station. Ich habe das gleiche Thema mit meinem Air Manager. Da hat wer laut Sander van Gelen dir wohl die Station zu früh ausgeliefert ( igo3d?)
Sander meinte dass die neue Firmware Ende der Woche Anfang nächster Woche wohl kommen wird. Ich nehme mal an das dies dann eine Version größer 5.4.6 sein wird. Die Version 5.4.6, die bei mir zumindest kurzfrist zum Download bereit stand, war bei mir leider unbrauchbar, da am Anfang kein Material kommt.

since yesterday there is a "new" Firmware. And as you can can read in this forum the new one is the old one. Ultimaker makes a roll back to 5.2.11

I think they have I bigger problem. Today I got the air manager. The Air Manager was recognized with the new firmware but not configured. When you do I got an unspecified Error (E36)
The downgrade of the firmware will work again, but with no air manager.....

Hello,
i have massiv problems with the position of the filament after a shut down of the printer. First I thought it happens only after a quick abort.
I print an object over night. In the morning the object is ready. I remove the object and clean the plate and switch off the printer. In the afternoon I start a new print. The printer heat up and starts bed leveling. I alway use the Prime blob to validate the material. But there is no material coming and the print start without material. After same second the material is coming.
When I am fast enough to realize the problem I am able to push material manually about 10 cm into the core and everything works fine. The problem start after update to the new firmware.
I use:
Ultimaker S5
Firmware 5.4.6 20191001
Cura 4.3.0

For me the wrong position of the filament is more important. When I abort a print quickly it should not have any starting conditions to a new print.
It make me creasy. I abort a print quickly. Then I make everything ready for a new try, but I have to abort again because no filament is coming.

Laut Wiki gab es mal eine Namensänderung von nur "Ultimaker" in "Ultimaker Orginal"!
Es gab auch eine technische Änderung und nicht nur die Namensänderung. Der Temperatur Sensor ist ein anderer und ich glaube damit gab es auch eine kleine Änderung an der Hauptplatine. Es kann aber sein, dass zuerst die Namenänderung erfolgt ist und dann die Veränderungen vorgenommen wurden. Der aktuelle Original ist halt ein klein wenig anders.
Die Grundsätzliche Frage ist, ob du einen Themocoupler Sensor auf deinem Druckkopf hast oder nicht.
Wenn du einen hast braucht du folgendes Upgrade:
Ich gehe aber davon aus das es etwas schwer zu bekommen ist. Hier habe ich es z.B. einmal gesehen:
Dual extrusion kit hier zum kauf gefunden
Das ist das Kit was ich verwendet habe.
Was du darstellst ist das Kit für den UM2. Dieses kit ist aber nicht 1:1 verwendbar was ja auch schon andere geschrieben haben.

Das Problem hatte ich auch mal kurzzeitig. Ich glaube das war ein Bug. (ich weiß aber nicht mehr ob Firmware oder Cura)
Das mit dem Blob ist eine Lösung. Ein update auf aktuelle Firmware und aktuelles Cura eine andere.
Aktuelle habe ich keine Probleme mehr.

Ich hatte mal einen Ultimaker (Da gab es den Ultimaker Original noch nicht. Das war der Vorgänger) und hatte diesen mit dem Umrüstset von Ultimaker auf Dualkopf erweitert und ihm eine Beheizte Druckplatte spendiert. Das Umrüstset von Ultimaker war genau für meinen Drucker konzipiert - ich weiß nicht ob Ultimaker dieses noch anbietet.
Aus meiner Sicht hat sich der Umbau nur bedingt gelohnt. Der 2. Druckkopf muss höher montiert werden, damit er nicht ständig an Drucken des ersten Kopfes hängen bleibt. Hieraus leiteten sich dann entscheidende Nachteile ab.
Nicht umsonst hat Ultimaker den Dualdruckkopf komplett neu entwickelt.
Folgendes waren immer wieder Probleme mit denen ich zu kämpfen hatte.
- Layerhaftung 1. Schicht für 2. Kopf war nicht optimal. Materialien die eine schlechtere Adhesion haben waren somit für den 2. Kopf unbrauchbar
- 1. Kopf trifft immer mal wieder schon gedruckte Teile -> Druck löst sich u.U. von der Glasplatte
- sehr aufwändiges Justieren der Druckköpfe.
Zusammengefaßt:
- Würde ich die Umrüstung noch mal machen -> NEIN
- Würde ich einen Ultimaker mit 2 Druckköpfen kaufen -> JA auf jeden Fall. Es macht Spaß Stützstrukturen mit PVA oder Break Away zu drucken. (Ich habe mir den S5 geleistet und bin super zufrieden)
- Hatte ich Erfolge bei meinem alten Ultimaker bei der Nutzung von 2 Materialen -> meist nicht zufrieden stellend
- 2 Farbendruck ging leidlich

Wie schaut bei dir der erste Layer aus? Ist der Plan? Die Wände sehen alle in Ordnung aus. Nur der Boden. Wenn bei mir die Haftung nicht vollständig ist heben sich einige Bereiche an. Wenn es zu viel ist und die Bodenstärke zu gering ist schaut es bei mir ähnlich aus.

nearly same problem with my S5. After recalibrating the print core and manually leveling the bed the auto leveling function works fine again.

igo3d told me that they got the glass plates and that they will send the plates at KW 18 or KW19.

I understand the difference between the sides if you want to print directly on glass. But why is it recomended to use the Tin side with adhesion sheet? What is the benefit to use Tin side with adhesion sheet? What will be the problems, if you will use the None-Tin side with adhesions sheet?

That's true and would be an improvement to have the MAC address on the back. But it is not a showstopper in most cases, only if your network is restricted on MAC addresses.
Sorry Smithy I think you are not right. 3d printing is my hobby but not my work. I am working for Telekom in Germany and I am one of the last level support for technical VPN consulting in my company. I am planing and designing VPN for big companies witch have a lot of location all over the world. Sometime i have to plan and design more than 1000 locations. And of course an IP address concept is mandatory. DHCP is mostly not the only sulution you will use. Static IP- addresses will keep your network simple and is often used. In general you will find a mix of static or dynamic addresses. It depend on the customer needs. And if customer has desided not to use DHCP than it is not possible and will not be possible for one device. In general you have to say Static IP address is nothing spezial. Not supporting this old generic function as standard feature is a little bit creasy and shows that the developer (sorry Ultimaker team) not really have an idea how professional networking will work. But on the other side the Ultimaker Team have a lot of experience of 3d printing :-)

how dry is your PVA? If it is not dry enough you will get problems. If it is nearly to dry it will easy break. I have no measure system but I start printing if it really easy break "into 1000 pieces" :-) But keep aware that it will not break in the tube.

That is the point.
But on the other side Sander has send me an PM. Perhaps we find a solution. For me it is important the promise they made will be get real. Easy print with a lot of different materials.
It must not be an aluminium plate. :-)

@SandervG, i have no problem with the uptime. So it is not a solution for me.
I have problem with adhesion of big ABS parts. Sometimes it is to lees or sometimes it is to much. So I have the risk of destroying my glass plate. The solution was an aluminium plate.For me it is a challenge to print for example the attached part with ABS without the risk of destroying my glass or get a proper print.

@gr5, in general you are right. But it is tricky. And that is the point. As you can see I use a very long time Ultimaker printers. Yes it was very in the beginning when I start using Ultimaker. The old one makes a super job and I was very happy. With some tricks I got the old one printing ABS. But after 6 Years 3D printing, not commercial, I want to have some automations and benefits. Keep in mind what different price tag you have for an S5 und Ultimaker 3.

Yes, the Ultimaker II problem. I remember. After i read the post my first thougt was the same. The Ultimaker printer are so good. But these behavior you will keep in mind after years and you will remember next time. When i thought about to buy an S5 or an Ultimaker 3, i thought they will have learned about the dual extruder problem and i decided to buy the S5. Now I have to explain a lot. I am not shure if will get money next time if a key feature is not ready. Thinks like this can happen one time but a second time..... oh oh not good.

I can understand you have technical problems. I can understand that you will not work further on develloping the aluminium plate. But there was a reason why you had spend a lot of time into developing a aluminium plate. This was one major reason why i decided to buy the S5. I want to print big ABS things and the hope was, that the aluminium plate will give me better adhesion.
To get a second glass plate it is a nice try to make the customer happy, but will not really fit to me. For me a second glass plate is completly uselees, except i will destroy the first one.
Perhaps you find another solution you do not know yet. What will happen to us, who bought the S5. Will we have to spend a lot of money the get the new sulution? If it is only a question of time i think we can talk about it, because i know when i bought the S5 that the aluminium plate was not ready. OK you told us that you will deliver at Q4 2018. Ok shit happens. I am able to wait. But if i have to spend a lot of money to get a better adhesion for ABS i will have a big problem. Than my decision to buy the S5 was wrong and that is not good thing.

@DirkDiggler: Eine bessere Beschreibung der Funktion wie Smithy sie gegeben hat kann ci auch nicht geben :-)
@Smithy: Ja, dass die Firmware nicht fertig geworden ist, sehe ich auch so. Kann passieren ist dumm gelaufen. Aber richtig informiert werden möchten man schon. Man hat ja doch eine Menge Geld investiert. Was ist mir Garantie z.B. Ab wann wird die gelten? Ab Kaufdatum? So wird es wahrscheinlich sein. Wenn ich den Airmanager erstmals nutzen kann sind wahrscheinlich 2 Monate in Land gegangen....
Was mich halt mittlerweile so richtig sauer macht ist die Tatsache, das solche Dinge immer wieder passieren. Ich bekomme häufiger Anfragen aus dem Bereich Forschung und Lehre, da ein Nachbar Vorschläge für unser Bezirksregierung erarbeitet was denn ein guter 3D Drucker für den Schuleinsatz ist. In diesem Zusammenhang sind schon einige Ultimaker für Schulen angeschafft worden. Gerade der Airmanager ist hier auch ein Riesen Thema. Das aktuelle Dilemma kam gar nicht gut an, da man schon mit dem Ultimaker 2 so einen Reinfall hatte.
