  1. Ok, I set up a paypal donate button. However there's one small issue. If I use my private accout, my email shows up during the process. This is something Paypal warns against because it could attract spam. To prevent this you can use a business account, which I did. But now Paypal displays my company's name "Föhnsturm ..." which people might find strange. Anyway, I'll collect donatations and will talk to the developers about how to use/share them.
  2. It you problem persits a short video would be helpful.
  3. There are several webshops, just search "disc magnet 6 x 3". If they don't deliver to Hong Kong, I can send you some.
  4. Mark2 used to work with S3D but during beta testing we focused on Cura. Tinkergnome knows the details but he is on holidays atm and only checks the forum occasionally.
  5. With the new config files, the printer should be listet as "Mark2 for Ultimaker" at the end of the "Other" section list, not longer within "Ultimaker"
  6. Working better and better!! 2 issues left: 1, how can i reduce the speed of first move of head 1, before picking up head 2, because my belts jump over.... 2: what is the exact Z calibration? i tried: leveling buildplate a usual, with the ulticard, followed bij the Z adjust of the 2nd extruder, but my plate seems to be to high in that config. There's a preferences -> motion settings menu in the firmware. You can try to reduce axis max speed / accel / jerk there.
  7. @Ultiarjan, I think we didn't yet update the files because of the manufacturer / name disussion, right?
  8. Ok seems that the ultimaker2_mark2.def.json on git is outdated. Sorry for that! machine_start_code includes wrong Y coordinates. For a quick fix make all four Y values 45.0 „value“: „\“\“ if machine_gcode_flavor == \“UltiGCode\“ else \“M84\\nG21 ;metric values\\nG90 ;absolute positioning\\nM82 ;set extruder to absolute mode\\nM107 ;start with the fan off\\nM200 D0 T0 ;reset filament diameter\\nM200 D0 T1\\nM204 S2000\\nM205 X12\\nG1 F9000\\nG28\\nT1\\nG0 X123 Y20 F9000\\nG0 Z30.0 F2400 ;move the platform to 30mm\\nG92 E0\\nG1 E16 F300 ;purge nozzle quickly\\nG1 E21 F40 ;purge nozzle slow\\nG92 E0 ;zero the extruded length again\\nG1 E-4.5 F1500\\nG1 X50 Z0.01 F9000 ;pull away filament\\nG1 X22\\nG1 Y40\\nG0 Z5.0 F2400 ;move the platform to 5mm\\nT0\\nG0 X105 Y18 Z30.0 F9000\\nG92 E0\\nG1 E16 F300\\nG1 E21 F40\\nG92 E0\\nG1 E-4.5 F1500\\nG0 X40 Z0.01 F9000 ;pull away filament\\nG0 X15\\nG0 Y40\““
  9. My settings are: wipe pos ( not used but anyway): 106.0 / 25.0 docking pos 220.0 / 42.0 And in the Preferences menue check Print area for reasonable values (sometimes they get lost with a firmware upgrade) And in Cura activate setting Travel -> Layer start X/Y. Defaults are 0 set values to something like x=100, y=50 (but usually this would trigger a "printing out of area" error).
  10. You mean you cannot add the printer? Scripts: Contents / Resources / plugins / plugins / PostprocessingPlugin / scripts
  11. I already managed to create a PVA profile in Cura, but as the entire profile management was kinda sub-optimal until 2.5. I didn't finish it. The other questions I have to leave for @Tinkergnome
  12. It makes no difference as long as each pair is working correctly. But you should take care when building additional stuff, ofc the magnets in a new head must match the ones in the already installed coupling. This is where I occasionally mess up things.
  13. At this moment i put 5mm between the plastic part and the hotend unit. Works. So 5mm would do it for me, then there is 3mm of difference (second is lower now) I use 123d design, which cant read the files. If you could do it... In the end, if everything works out, i will buy a second olsson and bondtech extruder. Do you know a solution for the Cura config files on Mac? Thanks I've only Macs. Just rightclick on Cura -> open package Then you see the directory structure and can move the files there.
  14. Thanks very much! Answering your question: supporting 3 extruders sometime this year Well, and there are extra movements before and after a tool change occasionally generated by Cura, which we think are not necessary (in our case). Like extruder 2 travelling to a place just been visited by extruder 1 before moving to its "real" starting position. I'm sure some of the co-developers will come up with additional ideas
  15. New forum topic started: Ultimaker Mark2 - The Smart Dual-Extrusion Upgrade. Let's continue the discussion there.
  16. Mark2 is an asymmetrical multi-extrusion upgrade for the Ultimaker 2, based on Foehnsturm's magnetic tool changer. It offers some unique features compared to conventional approaches. Keep it smart and simple The Mark2 upgrade doesn't require to modify or even disassemble the well-working single extrusion setup. Instead it adds a detachable second extruder. This leaves you with several benefits. Powerful - print quality on par with eg. the UM3 or BCN3D Sigma Flexible - use whatever you want: Olsson ruby, 3Dsolex block / nozzles, ... Cost-efficient - all you need is a second drive train, some magnets and screws Simple - all tried-and tested standard components Smart - Z-offset managed by firmware, calibration wizards Open & scalable - a non-extrusion tool head, a 3rd extruder ... all possible Mark2 is an Ultimaker community project, we don't offer a complete kit but we can help you out with a package, including all the parts you need, besides the second drive train. See it live Probably the best way to get an impression of the usability and print quality is to watch a few videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLeNzDYMnqAqIeZHWU9iOWnj_2OaemupQG Full Cura 2.5 integration Mark2 comes with a set of Cura definition files and can be added as a pre-configured printer. Tried and tested Mark2 setups have been printing for more than 5.000 hrs now, which equals more than 500.000 tool changes. Beta-testers and co-developers include well-known guys here like Tinkergnome, Ultiarjan and many more. The Mark2 website ultimaker-mark2.com is the place where you find all the information you need for doing this upgrade. ... and The Mark2 Dual Extrusion Project Contest is still running.
  17. So far everything is ready for the UM2. But there are quite some UMO owners interested. Let's discuss this in the near future. @neotko is one of the guys who knows best about the opportunities and challenges.

  19. In just a few days we will publish the Mark2 magnetic tool changer project. Everyone who currently owns an Ultimaker 2(+) will be able to upgrade it to a powerful dual extrusion machine, which provides print quality like e.g. the UM3 or BCN3D Sigma. To celebrate the Mark2 release we arranged a special competition for you: The Mark2 Dual Extrusion Project Contest d3v5bfco3dani2.cloudfront.net Share the most interesting project you need dual extrusion for and you cannot print now. Make a brief description and also some sort of drawing / concept. It can be 2D drawing that shows the idea or a CAD drawing. It is up to you to decide what gets the best message across. The participant with the best idea, presented in the most original way will win an Ultimaker Extrusion Upgrade Kit and can instantly start the Mark2 upgrade. The winner will be selected by the Mark2 co-developers and beta-testers. Showcase your proposal in this thread. You are allowed to enter more than one project and also to discuss and revise your entries as long as the contest is running. Deadline: Please publish your ideas until Sunday, May 21 2017, 12 pm ---
  20. The bowden lenght depends on the feeder positioning. If mounted close to the top of the back panel you're ok with the standard UM2 bowden length (the higher mounting compensates for the resting position in the distant front right corner). As for the fan cables, you're correct. We try to provide cable extensions and Y-cables for connecting the standard wire harness to the electronics. You can try to make your fan cables like the original ones and use the extension cables or make them already some 200 mm longer in oder to avoid the extensions (but you would still need the Y-splitters). The easiest way probably is to go for the first option and ask @SyntaxTerror if he wants to send you one of the Mark2 extension boards for a small compensation.
  21. Thank you. For new domains the default php version was outdated. Fixed now.
  22. You can oder at least 10 pcs of cylindrical magnets 6 mm dia x 3 mm thickness, holding force approx 900 gr. I will also offer a small package with the magnets, necessary screws and hopefully the required cable extensions.
